Anyone has any news on this ? Looked around a bit and i don't seem to find much.

I know the album is supposed to come out this year. What i'd like to know is if it;s supposed to be in the same vein as Paradise Lost. That mean heavy and aggressive. I love pretty much all SX albums but Paradise Lost is my favorite due to the sheer heaviness :dio:

This is by far one of my most anticipated release of 2011. So if anyone has heard anything (rumors , interviews , possible release date ect) then don't be afraid and share/ That would be appreciated :)

I want another Odyssey. That is still one of the best prog power albums ever.

They have been good in all respects for a long time. Their sound is getting a little old though having been around since the late 90's and I don't think speeding it up more is gonna work. They had their "Train of Thought" album and it's time to write something more interesting. They're gonna get a lot of shit for it, but every band has to once in a while and I don't think they are the kind of band like AC/DC to sit around and do the same shit for 35 years.

I'm kinda tired of these guys, but honestly they always deliver. I think it's the fact that I'm not like a huge fan of the genre they play, but they do so well that I'm definitely a fan. I've seen them live and it was an insane show, talent pouring out everywhere, so I can't take anything away from the band.

I think their delay behind releases helps a lot, though. Or at least it seems like it takes forever for them to put out an album anymore. Keeps it a bit more fresh and you know the record is going to be solid.

Really looking forward to this, though all news about it seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Loved both the Odyssey and Paradise Lost- my two favourite releases by them, so let's hope the hot streak continues.

I agree with this. Odyssey and The Divine Wings Of Tragedy are their best and I wouldn't mind an Odyssey style of album maybe based on their Accolade songs. I'd like to see a medieval themed concept album.

As long as it doesn't suck, I'll be happy, even if it sounds exactly like Paradise Lost and The Odyssey.

Did you see them at the Ranch Bowl by chance? That's where I saw them... with Devin Townsend.

I wonder if they are ever going to do a live DVD sometime in the near future?

I think Symphony X should expand on the more agressive style they established with Paradise Lost. IMO Odyssey was a masterpiece of prog, and I would prefer they continue in their new direction than try to recreate that particular wheel.

Not into this band since like a billion years, but glad to see them keeping it up. The band will split up eventually, just as they all do these days, so we'd better enjoy it while it lasts.

(No, I'm not bitter. At all.)

June 17th can't come soon enough

I can't stop listening to The End Of Innocence , especially know that it has grown on me. If the whole album is at the same level then we're in for a hell of a ride guys :dio:
