Meant the campaign, although I'm not sure whether I am actually halfway through, thinking about it. Just got the captain out of the gulag. I tend to play sporadically, not much of one for spending five hours on a game at a time.

that's cool, it's just the game is not long. seeing as how it's been out for a year now, you can see why I reacted the way I did.

Yeah, well, I never buy games at the full price. Will wait until Black Ops drops down from the ridiculous £40 it is last time I checked.

Oh, and

I like it. The only thing I hate is the spawning. For some reason Treyarch always has a shit spawn system. It doesn't break the multiplayer, but it can be frustrating when I spawn take 5 steps and the other team is now spawning behind me and killing me. It doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. The maps seem balanced and pretty standard CoD fare. All in all I like it.

What about the weapons and perks? Are those more balanced this time around? I mean, MW2 was almost unplayable because of these.

There are no new perks, just renamed ones or completely gotten rid of.

I'm only level 13 so I can't really comment on the guns, but I'm really digging the Famas.

Playing Wet for 360 right now. Surprised there's not a "Quentin Tarantino Presents" in front of the title.

Very fun, but also very bugged. Depends on what system you're running it on. On PC there are lots of people with nVidia videocards that can't get it to run properly, on my Ati system it runs like a dream.

It's better than FO3 though. More to do, cooler stuff to do.

Just brought a month of XBox gold and Modern Warfare 2 doesn't seem to be recognising it. Tried restarting router, Xbox, game, nothing does no good. Halp?

Edit - nevermind, working now.

Your gamertag doesn't give hints as to who you are at ALL.

Has anyone here played Demon's Souls? I'd love to play it but, alas, I do not own a PS3. There's a sequel-type thing coming out next year for Xbox 360 and PS3 both, though.

Excellent game, the trend these days with most developers is to make games less difficult and to include the same generic competitive multiplayer, Demon's Souls stays away from the norm by being challenging and unforgiven, and its multiplayer element actually enriches the single player campaing instead of being a different component of the game.

The core of the game is of a very basic action oriented RPG, you chose a class and a gender, wich determine your initial stats, abillities and equipment, you have one button for attack, another to defend and the usual roll-evasive movements.

There are five locations on the game with four stages each and a boss at the end of each stage, you must first clear the boss of the first stage of the first location (1-1 stage) after that youre free to chose wich location you want to go, the way to access the different areas of the game is via the five archstones in the nexus, wich functions as the game lobby.

Once you enter a stage you must reach to end of it and defeat the boss in one sitting, there is no save function (the game saves automatically wich actually works against you), you cant pause, not even for accessing the menus and the stages are filled with traps, enemies that hide in the shadows wating to ambush you, tough as nails sub-bosses and many other dangers, and if you die (you will die) you'll have to start from the begining of the stage and lose all of your souls, you get souls by defeating enemies, they function as the game currency for buying items and levelling up, so you dont wanna lose your souls, still even if you die a lot the game never feels cheap, its always your fault when you die and that encourage you to try again and again to beat it and you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment when you do.

The first time you die you lose your body and get into soul form, the only way to get your body back is to defeat a boss or by using some rare items, so you'll spend most of the time playing the game in soul form, the penalty is that your max HP is cut in half when in soul form.

The online component of the game is actually very cool, the game is always connected and mixes competitive and cooperative multiplayer seamlessly in to the single player; players can leave messages on the ground advising other players, they can be anyhting like "use fire on the next enemy" to "watch out for the ambush" or "there is a great treasure ahead", you can rate these messages if they were helpful to you and the player who wrote them will get healed everytime one of his messages gets a good rate, whenever your in body form you'll be able to invade other people's game and others can invade your game too, these are battles to the death and the loser loose his souls and body, there is nothing like beating a boss and as you get your way to next stage with your precious recently acquiered body, you get the message that someone has invaded your game, there is no way of telling where the invader is, he can be very well around the corner or waiting for you to get careless and stab you in the back, he can also get killed by the many dangers of the stage before he even gets to you.
Just like when invading games you can also seek the aid of up to three other players in soul form to help you with a stage, the reward for them is that if you win they get their bodies back and gain souls.

The dificulty of the game makes it very adicting and even when you finish it you can chose to start all over again with all your items and level, the catch being that the game gets more difficult each time you beat it.

I strongly encourage you to play Demon's Souls if you can, it may even be worth to get a PS3 just for this game (Hint: there are other great games too), IMO its the best game so far in this current gen of consoles.

It sounds just like my kind of game. The problem here is that to get a PS3 I'd have to sell my 360, which would mean abandoning all the games I spent money and time on over the past 4 years. I'll wait until the price on the PS3 goes down again to get one, but by that time the sequel (Project Dark) will be out for 360 and I may not even want it anymore. Demon's Souls is literally the only reason I want a PS3. Not that PS3 is a bad console, because it's a great one, but I'm also very happy with my 360.

BTW, here's a link to the trailer for Project Dark, which isn't a confirmed sequel even though it looks very, very much like Demon's Souls:

Just saw the trailer, it looks exactly like demon's souls, hopefully it would be just as good or better than DS.

And yeah selling your 360 its not a good idea.
