IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST WE MASSACRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great band and easily the most extreme of the thrash metal acts coming out of the 80s. I can't think of many bands that come even close to Holy Terror, maybe Dark Angel and Sadus but Holy Terror epitomize what it means to play "extreme" metal, how the hell can that guy keep that incredible range with all of those crazed tempo changes and that speed?!?!?

Best thrash metal band ever, hands down. Well-written review. No band can combine this type of speed, melody, or heaviness like Holy Terror can. The guitar riffs melt faces with their heaviness, speed, and sheer complexity. This band wipes its ass with the other thrash metal acts coming out of California...hell, the USA.

I agree, Distant Calling is the highlight of this album, and it is one of the slower songs. But the guitar riffs are perfect, the structure is perfect, and it has some of the most haunting melodies in heavy metal. They were all horrible heroin addicts, so this song to me sounds like a guy coming down from heroin after listening to early Judas Priest albums.

Regarding American heavy metal bands, Holy Terror and Fates Warning are IMHO the two best.

What fascinates me most abou the band is the musicality to their sound, in spite of their extreme speed and intensity they are approachable due to the vocals and melodies. You'd be hard-pressed to find any band that can meld all of that into one album, and Holy Terror are one of the few bands that were able too. NOW they just need to reunite and make another album!

I spoke with Kurt Kilfeldt (Kulfeldt) or whatever his last name is. He said that he had gotten Milke Alvord on board and one other guy. Apparently Keith Dean really fucked himself up on heroin and now lives in LA. He has kids and has no desire to get back into music. Tis a shame, but from their bio it seems that they all hit the wall pretty hard.

Will I enjoy this band, being as I am a non-thrash metal kinda person?

It depends... Do you like fast, aggressive, technical yet melodic metal? Sure, HT is thrash metal but I think it can appeal to any metalhead looking for something to slam his face and kick his ass.

Such a brilliant album for it's perfect combination of NWOBHM and thrash, though I've always preferred Mind Wars of their two albums. I agree with what was written above: No thrash band is better at conveying emotion or depression than Holy Terror.
