There was no mention of The expendables being just as good or bad as the A-team. I said much like the A-team, it's mindless action. Mindless action.

Day and Knight - really liked the first half, the second was pretty boring. Tom Cruise was great, though.

City Island - Cheesy, but the good kind thanks to great acting and a solid story.

Swimming With Sharks - Kevin Spacey being a mean boss. Not quite as good as I remember, but still good stuff.

Saw the Expendables before I left.

It's basically about as over-the-top and ridiculous as any action movie can get.

I enjoyed it, though.

The Expendables was cool but considering the cast they had the raw materials for an epic, unforgettable action movie that would grow hair on viewers' chests for years to come.

Undisputed III

Holy fuck how was this so good?

I enjoyed this more than The Expendables. The action was on a much smaller scale, as it was mostly just people beating the shit out of each other in a ring, but the fights were filmed with more clarity than anything that was going on in The Expendables, which had too many action-obscuring quick cuts for my liking. Also, Scott Adkins is so goddamn diesel in this movie it's ridiculous. And there were no boring romantic subplots with Cordelia in the movie because it took place in maximum security Russian prisons.

I should probably write about metal more on these metal forums, but I needed a place to rant about this movie.

Yeah, the pressure is on since that little argument in the faces thread.
Sounds like a cool movie btw.

Saw The Eye yesterday. The original, not the American remake with Jessica Alba, which I've also seen. As expected, the original is far better. I should watch more Japanese stuff.

Stalker - Andrei Tarkovsky is a genius. There is absolutely nothing compelling in the story, just meaningless philosophical bullshit, but the movie is simply beautiful. Every scene is like the best photo a photo artist can capture, touched by a great painter with a post-apocalyptic mindset. Hard to watch without falling asleep though.

You capture the film in a nutshell! I found Solyaris to have a much more compelling story, which is why I preferred it, even it didn't have quite the same cinematography.

Agreed.

I couldn't believe it was that good before I saw it, either.

The Crazies.

Surprisingly entertaining! Some really intense scenes and mostly solid acting. Dumb ending though.
