So for all you experts, what should I do next? Should I just go back to the beginning and work my way through?

Yes.

Down Among The Deadmen used to be my undisputed favourite Slough Feg album, until i started to appreciate Traveller a little bit more, now its a tie between both but all of their albums are great really, the first one is a bit rough compared to their later albums but the songs are excellent.

The first Slough Feg album i heard was Twilight Of The Idols, i've been following these guys since as each new album comes out, when Traveller came out i was a little dissapointed they dropped their Folk/Celtic motifs and went with a more Sci-Fi approach, now im glad they did because it think this whole Viking/Folk/Whatever thing can only get you so far before it feels like a gimmick and stars to get boring.

Usually this kind of music is not my cup of tea but this album is so damn good it'll win people not very fond of the prog-thrash-death genre. I know that's what it did for me.

For Slough Feg, I would check out Deadmen then go back to the beginning.

Seems to be the general consensus.

Thanks for the advice.

So, for some reason when I saw this post I was intrigued and decided to look into it. I've listened to the first 4 songs on the album and I'm not impressed. The vocals are terrible and the song writing is all over the place.

I have a promo of that one, been meaning to review it for some time, but every single time I put it on I turn it off after a couple of songs. Should get it done soon enough though, so I'll have to get properly into it.

Aren't you, like me for that matter, more a heavy metal fan? I usually dislike this kind of music. I don't know why I like this one so much but I do. Actually, I love how varied and surprising the music is and the vocals are quite good too.

I like pretty much everything other than Black Metal. This just didn't do it for me. Castaways in the N.W.O was cringe inducing.

A Forest of Stars - Opportunistic Thieves of Spring

Definitely one of the top albums of '10 for me.

Porcupine Tree -- Fear Of A Blank Planet

A rainy day with some Porcupine Tree is a recipe for a good day.

I'm no dance music guy, and I listened to Invaders must die for like 2 months straight when it came out. Good shit.

Yeah, but it doesn't have stuff like Breathe, Firestarter or Smack My Bitch Up on it.
Although as far as general consistency goes, it's much better than anything they've ever done.
And Prodigy isn't dance music, it's punk with electronic instruments.

Aquaria - Luxaeterna.

Shit, this is the most over-the-top power metal I've ever heard. It's really hard to stop listening to. :dio:

Paramore - Blind New Eyes

can't get enough of this srsly. Even loving The Only Exception which I thought was pretty cheese at first. Things like all of Ignorance or the backing vocals in the last chorus of Brick by Boring Brick are just too good.

Brick by Boring Brick is a great song. The video is even more awesome with all it's imagery.

Oh and you probably meant "Brand new Eyes"

Such a great album to listen to. One of my favorite PT albums.
