Inception is one of those movies you have to see twice, but unlike others like say The Sixth Sense you can still bare to watch it a third time. Great ending, a real twist but not in a way that the twist ending is the actual plot which is an incredibly stupid trend in modern movies.

Haven't seen it yet, but glad that the twist isn't like the fucking awful one in Repo Men, if I'm reading your description correctly.

Spoilers:

I'm not sure what the "twist" is, but at the end, I do beleive the top faltered. If I understand it, the end shows that it wasn't a dream, but I'm not sure if I missed something.

in terms of sheer fucking with you i still think Shutter Island is better. in the end i think it's clear what's what (or maybe i just miss the point altogether! lol), but throughout it keeps you guessing much more. in Inception i guess it wasn't the point, since you see things from Cobb's perspective and he's kind of like the provoking it, but the story suffers for that.

SPOILERS what i didn't get is how come Saito was old in limbo, but not Fischer, and how Cobb kind of like re-entered the limbo scenery, at the beach. is it a new dream or something, or did he succumb to his injury and enter limbo not by dream sharing but through "death" of his own?

Good movie.

We just came back from watching 'Salt'. If you've enjoyed Jolie's past action films then you should enjoy this one.

Read the book for Shitter Island first. Far, far superior to the film. Marty needs to get his ass in gear.

Saw Cube 2 - Hypercube earlier. <<< Cube The First.

Heh. Well, I haven't liked one of Marty's films since Casino.

The Departed? That one kicked all sorts of ass. Gangs of New York was not bad either.

I liked The Departed. Gangs Of Noo Yoik was meh, not seen Bringing Out The Dead.

The Departed wasn't bad. But I had seen 'Infernal Affairs' first (the screenplay that departed was adapted from). Infernal Affairs said everything Departed said in an hour less time. Plus Marty lost control of Nicholson's ham-fisted performance. DiCaprio was excellent in his role.

Gangs wasn't bad either, when I meant 'haven't liked' I didn't mean dislike, just neutral.

Ah....I knew I shouldn't have continued with the movie talk.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - ok thriller. Biker chick with endless supply of awesome leather jackets and activist reporter hunt capitalist nazis! Unnecessary RAPE then REVENGE sequence at the start meant it took a while (too long!) to get going, and another one at the end meant it took a while (too long!) to finish.

I've been looking to carve out some time to read 'Shutter Island' due to hearing that the book was better than the film, which is usually the case. We rented it and watched it last night. I had already seen the film in the theater but it was my wife's first time watching it and she enjoyed it. I don't find 'Shutter Island' to be an exceptional film but I don't feel it's awful either.

Saito died much earlier than Fischer. They went into the dream right after he died unlike Saito who sat there a while and still had to wait for Cobb to get to the fortress and still save Fischer. Cobb floated on shore because he drowned in the van, went to limbo and sound Saito.[/size]

Finally got Netflix. I watched 5 movies this weekend.

Waterworld - HE HAS GILLS! Love this movie

Food Inc - Great documentary. Know where your food comes from folks.

No Country For Old Men - Still gets 5 stars from me. One of the best movies ever made.

Stepbrothers - Still hilarious

Zach Galifianakis stand up - It was just ok. Sometimes it made crack up, but it seems like he gets progressively drunker through his standup and then manages to get less funny. Maybe I just was too tired.

Waterworld is awesome, I don't understand why so many hate it.

500 Days of Summer was good.
Youth in Revolt was pretty lame so it got turned off 40 minutes into it.

I couldn't agree more with that statement.

Today You Die: Steven Seagal + black sidekick + shit story = win.
Dialogues so bad that it was painful to watch, dozens of unnecessary explosions, women who had so many botox treatments that I was afraid they we're going to explode...
The moral of the story was probably the best part: ending up in jail, breaking out, killing tons of innocent people and running off with 20 million dollars of drugs money is wrong. Except if you use a small part to save a child hospital from bankrupcy.

Inception: damn, what a great movie.

Shutter Island is also pretty awesome, btw.
