Some combination of what Goat and Milan just said.

Got some of their old stuff, looking forward to hearing this.

I like this band but didn't know they had a new album! Cool.

Would check this out if this review explained at all what they sound like.

After a wonderfully epic intro, the first track is like Dead Can Dance jamming with Slayer. There's a fair bit of Mastodon in there too, ooh, just like the review said.

Because saying it reminds one of Mastodon is so descriptive/not overused. Proggy Mastodon, sludgy Mastodon, heavy as fuck Mastodon? But yeah you explained it.

I don't know, I tend to dislike reviews that tell you in exact detail what you're about to hear, hence not doing track-by-tracks generally. Considering how easy it is to hear all this wonnerful music with an internet connection, the least that a review should do is to grab your attention, which this definitely does. Depends on you I suppose.

Sometimes the most accurate or useful analog is not the most erudite one. Yes, a Mastodon comparison is fairly common, but that's because it's useful. A lot of people get a really good idea what you mean when you say "sounds like Mastodon." I try above all else to just give you a simple idea of what the record sounds like and whether it's worth your time, so I'm disappointed you didn't get that it from it. I'll keep this in mind going forward. Sometimes it's just so tempting to write the review as if it's its own endeavor, when in fact it's derivative; the music is the most important thing. Let met throw this in to try to convince you to check the record out: no band I know of, although many try, has integrated sophistication so seamlessly with heaviness as Yakuza. Of Seismic Consequence embraces sounds from such unacquainted points across the spectrum as to strain credulity. It strikes one as unlikely that the baritone sax could add meaningfully to what otherwise is riff-driven psychedelic stoner metal, but it does and then some.

They're touring the US with 1349 and Triptykon, which is a pretty damn  :dio: tour.

Not everything works on Yakuza's new album but, when it does, it's really really good.

This band is really something special. I found out so late about them, but I'm very glad I did. Awesome stuff.
