Every classic metal or punk or rock band from the 70s and 80s except Judas Priest, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple. NOT EVEN KIDDING. Especially Black Flag and Iron Maiden.

Sometimes I think I'm subconsciously biased against old + popular stuff (although I like old and popular jazz/blues/funk/rnb) but yeah those three are the only ones I enjoy listening to

forgot King Crimson actually. I like them too!

Also 2nd Deathspell Omega and Suffocation.

Actually I take back those especiallies because later Black Flag is actually pretty awesome and I like a couple Maiden songs. Damaged is kind of really really bad though.

Don't understand the appeal of anything Wino's done.

I love Neu! and Van Der Graaf Generator but was thinking more like Cream/Led Zeppelin/The Beatles/Pink Floyd levels of classicness. Been meaning to check those other two out.

These threads are stupid. It always turns into, "look what big name band I don't like." :lame:

There no point naming little bands though.

There is no point at all. If a band comes up in general conversation that you can't really get into and you mention that, cool. Having a whole thread devoted to "Popular bands I don't like" just seems pointless to me.

Me, for starters. But you can't offend me with these kinds of discussions. If people don't like Pink Floyd for instance that's okay, and they're fucking retarded for it, but it's not as if I valued their opinion enough to feel hurt or disappointed by it.

Yeah. There aren't many bands that can record an album while being laughably atrocious, and even less who can become big and classic while being laughably atrocious. There's a lot of classic bands I don't much care for but when I listen to them I can understand why other people like them and usually even why they're more popular than the bands I do like (for example Overkill have a vocalist that sounds like a goblin while Metallica do not, etc). I guess like any thread though it's something that might provoke discussion?

trapt saying Coroner and Kaath saying Judas Priest made me kinda sad though.

The Immolation and Suffocation statements made me cringe haha, but too each their own hehe, if I could add another band though it would be Weakling. The band really put me to sleep after Dead as dreams, and everyone was mad raving as too how "deep" the album was..

Van Halen and Foreigner bore me outside a few songs, a lot of power metal and melodic stuff (not all of it just the ones that scream PRO TOOLS!), Sex Pistols and The Clash (Ramones, The Jam, Buzzcocks are all better but never played on the radio), Rolling Stones outside of a few select songs are a Beatles ripoff band (ex. Their Satanic Majesties Request) Guns n Roses and AC/DC are overplayed but not terrible, not that good either, Nickleback and U2 (go without saying), Aerosmith's later stuff is really annoying, Red Hot Chilli Peppers are individually talented but the lyrics my god, same for REM. Pearl Jam, post OK Computer Radiohead, Oasis, Dave Mathews Band, and Sublime. Sorry for rambling.
