Add Vader, Napalm Death, Therion, The Crown, power metal in its entirety, Cathedral, and Coroner to my tab.

Napalm Death, Cathedral & Coroner implies Epic fail x 2.

maybe I haven't given Cathedral or Coroner enough attention but I swear Napalm Death is so uninteresting for how much it is touted as being so damn good.

Serious  , here. Even if you don't recognise Scum, how anyone can fail to be blown the fuck away by their last three AT THE LEAST is beyond my understanding.

I said this thread would turn into bile, and it seems that things will just get shitter and shitter now we have troll posts like Husker's.

Jethro Tull only has the song Aqualung.

I take Coroner back. I don't know what I was thinking on that one. Time Waits for No Slave was decent but everyone raves about everything ND does and I don't see that. I can respect 'em but I don't have to like them. Cathedral's vocals annoy me. Solid riffs but I can get that from any doom band.

It doesn't have to be that way.

BTW, perhaps Husker doesn't dig those bands; I don't see why it is being dismissed as troll effort straightaway.

I don't see why anybody should give half a rat's ass what other people listen to, anyway.
But, that's just me.

Manticora and Brainstorm as well as Blind Guardian, the genre is far too fluffy compared to the other styles I listen too.

this thread hurts...

Dark Angel? Vader? Cathedral? Coroner? Anthrax? Motorhead? Overkill? Manowar? King Diamond? Pink Floyd? Led Zeppelin?

I guess I can understand the Manowar hate, but still, the others mentioned?

Yeah. But old Helloween, Rage & Gamma ray are some of the more decent bands in the genre, with Blind Guardian.

I think that entire album is great.

I don't get Lamb of God. Also Down, Crowbar & similar bands. And a lot of Brutal death metal.

Agreed with Lamb Of God. They have some good riffs from time to time, but all their songs sound the same and they're pretty boring, so when I hear people claim that they're one of the best Metal bands of our time I'm just like "wat"

Dark Angel.. how the hell are they overrated? No one except metal circles even really know of them, and they haven't received half of the attention that a boring band like Metallica has. Anyways, I'd have to say Gorguts, their music isn't all that amazing as say Atheist, and is at best harmless on The Erosion of Sanity.

I didn't say they were overrated. Not one of these bands is actually (well maybe Manowar and Gamma Ray are...) just that I didn't get them aka couldn't get into their music even if I tried.

JT were a terrific band from 1969 to 1978. 10 albums! :dio:

this.

I didn't get Opeth for years and then they finally and suddenly clicked and became a favorite of mine, so I don't really cross band names off my list so easily anymore.

So now for the bands I don't get:

Wolves in the throne room and Altar of Plagues - hasn't this music been done before, and better, by Burzum and Weakling? I can see the differences but the general idea is the same, except boring.

Immolation and Suffocation - Why so legendary? They're ok but...

Destruction - All their albums combined don't make one as good as Pleasure to Kill.

Last but not least: JUDAS PRIEST - ok. I have to make an exception here. Painkiller is one of the best albums ever, on par with even Maiden's best, no question. But how are their earlier albums any good? They are too slow and mellow. And the ballads

I'll say. Try againt Destruction, Judas priest, Wolves in the throne room and Altar of Plagues. Perhaps it's like Opeth, ypu've not giving them enough tries.
