I would say so actually and your being facetious damn you Zad! In the case of Limbonic Art they didn't start chugging until "Epitome of illusions", and this is.a minor case as The Ultimate death worship was incredibly fast and straightforward rapid black metal. The symphonic aspect of the band is also noticeably more varied than Dimmu, and this also happens to be the case for Anorexia Nervosa as well. Unlike Dimm Borgir who add the keyboard to the point of just building songs around the arrangement, Limbonic Art would significantly lessen it in latter albums. Not to mention Limbonic Art has far more interesting tempo changes, whereas Dimmu Borgir writes WWE theme music.

Interesting... Limbonic Art is definitley black metal, at least up to Epitome of Illusions as Steve mentioned.
Limbonic Art creates Faustian soundscapes of melancholic desolation, at times Wagnerian in it's grandiosity, at times phantasmagoric, always as cold as the voids between the stars. This is why they are, or were, black metal.
Tales of sorcery told through music is how I would describe the first few Limbonic Art albums.

Also interesting is reading the name Anorxia Nervosa... one from the vault, that one, and incidentally not black metal.

You either get it regarding what is black metal and what isn't, or you don't; it''s really that simple.
Like Husker mentioned, listen to Belketre or Darkthrone (or a few dozen other bands) and then listen to Dimmy; there's your first step on the path to the reason why Dimmy is not black metal.
