I would love to listen to the cover of Your The Voice.

Edit : I just listened to it and it's good. Not as good as the original, but good. Kinda getting used to the vocals which I wasn't very comfy with before.

This and the new Angra are mine. I think its safe to say Blind Guardian still have it.

I definitely hear "Nightfall Middle Earth" styles on the first track and "Night At The Opera" on the second. So far so good!

This is better than the last album, except for the song Otherland, which I thought was the only good song on A Twist. But this still has an undeniable air of "new Blind Guardian." They are trying to get back to their older sounds, but I fear they just are not capable of it anymore. Nightfall had a feeling to it that all BG has lacked since then, with the exception of the songs "The Soulforged," and "And then there was silence." Everything sounds far to clinical and dry now. I don't know exactly how to say it, but there is some essence that has been missing from this band, and though I can tell they are trying to recapture it....I just don't think they can do it. They have changed as people and as musicians and this is relfected in the music. The spirit of old Blind Guardian is gone forever.

As far as the rest of the single goes, megh. I didnt like the cover, and the acoustic song is nothing spectacular. Again, it lacks the "spirit" of the old band.

New fans I suspect will rejoice, but anyone who was expecting a throwback to the old days, will be disappointed. We will never get another "Somewhere Far Beyond" or "Tales from the Twighlight World."

The thing is they're not trying to go back to their older sound completely. They're mixing the old with the new which is pretty much what AVITD sounds like.

No I certaintly dont. My opinion remains the same on new BG, and I am entitled to my opinion. Should I conform my opinion to what you find acceptable? Do me a favor and fuck off if you don't have anything constructive to say.

No need to change your opinion on BG, but everybody here has read it about 600 times. That being the case, you still insist on long posts just to say you don't like newer BG that much.

I happen to find new BG kick ass, especially ANATO.

That's great. I disagree, and at least I have explained my decision. I love BG, so them currently sucking is quite bothersome to me. So I feel the need to express my frustration with them. So if you want to argue, then fine, but simply telling me to shut up is retarded.

I finally had a chance to listen to the original version of "You're The Voice". First off, it's a very catchy song. Despite it being a cover song, it is becoming one of my favorite "new" Blind Guardian songs. Second, this song sounds as if Blind Guardian recorded it when John Farnham did it. It's an excellent version, very true to the original, but BG makes it sound much bigger than the original using multi layered vocals and drums.
