Had an Alien marathon yesterday. My scores of each:

Alien: Perfect. 10 / 10.
Aliens: One of the best sequels ever. So intense. 9.5 / 10.
Alien 3: What the fuck? This should've been a 10 minute short film, not a 2 hour movie. So boring and unexciting. I hate this. 2 / 10.
Alien Resurrection: Not bad, but not that great either. Some really cool scenes. 6 / 10.

Also, saw Toy Story 3 and about bawled because I grew up with that series, and now I'm about to go to college just like Andy. Oddly personal movie for me, considering it's a "Kids" movie, but it was very good. 9 / 10.

Pretty much agree with this, but I'd give Aliens 9.75 and Alien 3 a 5/10, the depressing atmosphere works well imho. I suppose Alien Resurrection gets a 7, too, for sheer OTT fun.

The Road

pretty ok, nothing special.

it needed music like There Will Be Blood. if it had that style of intense music, it would of been way more epic. IMO of course.

TWBB had great music, agreed. That first shot with the well and the Kubrickan styled music really sucked me in; I knew I was in for a classic.

Agreed, TWBB kicks ass. Daniel Day Lewis is awesome in that movie.

I finally saw the first Karate Kid movie last night. I liked it, but sheesh, did Ralph Macchio ever go through puberty? He was 21 years old when the movie was filmed, and yet he looked and sounded more like he was 12 or 13.

Went to Twilight: Eclipse midnight showing last night.

On an unrelated note, I'm also back from San Francisco Gay Pride parade as of Monday.

But no seriously, the movie was actually pretty damn good. Much better than the first two.

Grown Ups

Adam Sandler will never be top of the comedy class anymore, but still this movie was pretty funny. I just thought it was weird that Chris Rock was barely in the movie. Rob Schneider and David Spade had much bigger roles.

oh yeah, Selma Hayak is ridiculously hot. goddamn.

Yes, well, my girlfriend kinda dragged me along. By that, I mean she made me drive her and her two gay friends. 4 hours each way. With a gay guy's iPod. Ugh. (stereotype my ass, otherwise pride wouldn't have been full of shitty pop/dance music)

But as to Twilight, for the longest time I hated it on principle but now I'm seeing (at least with this movie, haven't read much of the books) that it's not quite as bad as most people make it out to be.

I have a feeling that everything that made the first one good will be totally screwed over with completely over the top, in your face "scary" parts. Hopefully I'm wrong.

If it is between girlfriend and trash culture like Twilight then it is time for her to go away.

She's Out of my League

meh, had it's moments but nothing special. I guess I'd recommend it to people who want a cheap laugh.
