Probably my favorite Voivod album next to Angel Rat, which not many people liked. Nothingface still holds up today. Astronomy Domine fits them perfectly. Great cover song!

Things come and go, the unknown knows!

I'm with you...Angel Rat and Nothingface are both excellent, in different ways. Nothingface sounded unlike anything else released at the time...or since. Voivod really hit something unique with that release. It's a shame that album has been out of print and no one has given it a proper reissue since it highly deserves one.

Great review Zad, a well deserved classic, cant seem to pick a favourite Voivod album but this one and Rrröööaaarrr would be the ones i listen the most.

To be honest I'm probably like the majority of metalheads who have only really listened to Dimension Hatröss, Nothingface, and to a lesser extent, Killing Technology and Angel Rat. But based upon these few classics they have forged a permanent place in my favourite bands of all time, with the two formerly-mentioned albums being easy top 20 or 30 of all time material (saying a lot for me - I'm pretty picky). Nothingface is simply chock full of excellence, and as Zad so accurately puts it, it is definitely an album you can return to over and over again (and over and over and...). Listening to this now really just rubs in the magnitude of the tragedy of Piggy's untimely passing - the man was truly one of a kind. Great review, and one that's been a long time coming.

Voivod has been an excellent band up to The Outer Limits.
Nothingface is divine but Dimension Hatross is a close second.
