I was lucky enough to see the lead singer of the Strokes on his solo tour last night hitting up a spot in town that's very intimate. He ended up moving the concert from a larger venue to something more personal and it rocked.
He was extremely personable and hung out in the bar area and watch the band that opened for him play and talk to fans and give autographs/pictures. My friend and I had no problem going up to him and talking to him for a few minutes, and unlike some bands or members I've met, he was very genuine and appreciative of his fans.
I guess he loves Omaha, too. Apparently he lived here for a year so that was cool to hear.
Anyway, the show was outstanding. I've never really been a huge Strokes/Casablancas fan but I've converted from last night. He put on a very charismatic performance and had an awesome energy.
If you're a fan at all definitely get out and see him on this tour.
