After reading through the Kick-Ass comics last night, I'm really psyched to see the movie. :dio: McLovin' playing the part of Red Mist seems like a poor decision, but we'll see.

I just hope I'm not disappointed with Kick-Ass as I was with the Watchmen movie.

How to train your Dragon was super awesome. I saw it in 3-D with my 4 year old cousin, it was a really great film!

I'm super pumped to see Clash of the Titans, I mean Liam Neeson is ZEUS!

Hell yeah it was. And I hardly ever like animated films outside of Pixar. :dio:

A 10 min. clip from This is What Democracy Looks Like. It's about the '99 WTO protests in Seattle. It has really fucked with me. Just watching 15 people sitting on the ground locking arms, helpless as a paramilitary riot team sprays pepper spray point blank in their eyes. It's fucking disgusting to the point where it makes me sick that people can actually do that to men and women simply because they're sitting in the road, blocking delegates' path to their destination.

You have a lot of catching up to do if you think that kind of thing is rare. A bit of research will have you  -er than you'd think possible.

I know but I've just never seen it so up and close. It was recorded by a handheld camera and they showed the police chatting with them beforehand and as soon as they got the call they became mindless savages. Watching those people's grimaces and watching them before the mace, them just bracing for the blow of the nightsticks was awful. I've just never seen it.

Triangle.

The sort of film that works better when you know less about it, good stuff.

Wiki links are crap. You have to copy-paste the whole thing, not just the blue bit.

Been in a movie watching mood lately. Ones I've seen of late:

Alice In Wonderland in 3D - thought it was awesome. Johnny Depp was a kick ass mad hatter. Much better than the critics claim, but then again people claimed that No Country For Dead Men was an amazing film so...go figure.

Shutter Island - It was alright, I guess. I think the best thing was more how they filmed it and the soundtrack and how it fit the time period. There were a few interpretations of it other than the obvious that, if they were true (which I doubt they are) would have made it a more interesting movie. Either way, it wasn't horrible, it just wasn't amazing either and I pretty much figured out what was gonna end up happening from the get go.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration - If you liked past Universal Soldier movies, or if you liked movies like Hitman (which I do) then I'd definitely recommend it. It's not amazing but it's definitely a fun watch. Plus it's got some really awesome scenes like when Jean-Claude Van Damme sticks a pipe through Andrei Arlovski's skull, shoves his gun barrel down it and pulls the trigger. Fuckin' classic :P

Law Abiding Citizen - Cool movie, but kind of took a turn for the not so plausible, which wouldn't necessarily matter if around mid-film the main character's actions stopped making sense according to what he was actually trying to accomplish (showing how flawed the legal system is). By the time they revealed that he'd tunneled into prison and wasn't working with anyone, it had pretty much just become your classic "pretty 'splosions" action film, which is cool, too.

Moon - Not at all what I expected since the dvd cover kind of made it look boring (yes I judge movies by their covers). Pretty cool and I'd recommend it. The outcome was kinda predictable, but still enjoyable anyway.

Sherlock Holmes - I was a big Sherlock Holmes fan as a kid and I enjoyed this. Made me laugh. Very Sherlock Holmes-y. That's all there is to say really...kinda reminded me of I Sell the Dead (which is hilarious, btw) for some reason.

Really cool movie! Uber creepy Sci-Fi/Horror that's like a combination of Alien, The Descent, and Dead Space. Great plot, with lots of tasteful twists, too, and it keeps you guessing until the very last minute. The mutants and some of the characters are kinda silly, though, and the fight scenes aren't nearly as intense as the director wants you to believe them to be. Shame this didn't get any attention while it was in theaters, though. 8 / 10.

My daughter dragged me to see Alice... I was skeptical, with Tim Burton, it can go either way.
Was actually pleasantly entertaining.

I usually find that Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Helena Bonham Carter often = a great movie and I'm glad that Burton decided to continue the story instead of just sticking with the original. I also think Depp and Carter's abilities to play authentically eccentric characters is a big part of what made it a good movie for me. That and the fact that the visuals were awesome (3D aside), and I did get the feeling of being in Carroll's absinthe-infested mind :P

The Madness Of King George - A bit pro-royalty for me, but great performances.
