Ok, that does it!

Woah, post Projector? Have you even been reading this thread guy? And Clayman is a great album.

Anyways I've been meaning to get back to this. I've had some time to listen to We Are The Void several times through now and I really like it, definitely better than Fiction. I need more time with it but this will most likely make it into my best of 2010 list.

I really have to get round to listening to it but right now I'm hooked on Rituals of the Oak and the new Orphaned Land.

Those who say IF are better are fucking having a laugh, anything after Clayman is shit, especially if you remember how awesome they used to be on Jester Race and Whoracle. You guys saying that at least they tried different things, well there's no point in doing it if the new direction sucks, and let's face it, would anyone here honestly complain if they said the next album would be in the Jester Race style?

Yes, I would complain. This isn't 1995. I want an album that has some heart and thought into it, not some carbon copy of an old success.

Yeah, TJR and Whoracle are great... But you know what, that shit is played out. So many other bands have copied it and played it out. I mean, I must have had TJR and Whoracle on repeat for years when I was in highschool, along with the rest of the IF discography at the time. I still do.

I don't want to hear the same album over and over again. If I want that I'll listen to Vader.

Yeah but clearly IF lost the plot, so I'd rather they went back to doing awesome melodeath again, even if it's not original now.

Besides every band has a style which they more or less stick with for a few albums and then maybe at one point they change it and stick with that for a while. Will anyone here complain on the next Meshuggah album "oh no, downtuned, offbeat riffs AGAIN?!" Or "aren't Dream Theater tired of the whole progressive thing by now?" You know what happens most of the time when bands decide to change style? Reroute to Remain, One Second and Hatecrew Deathroll. I rest my case.

Reroute to Remain is a great album.

It makes me a bit sad that I have no desire to hear this. Dudes used to be one of my favourite bands a couple years ago

Tastes changing isn't really a problem imo it's just a little strange.

Rereoute to Remain doesn't belong anywhere near those other two albums.

I wouldn't say In Flames lost anything. They're doing rather well.

I'm guessing because DT got a bit stale for you. Happened to me too when I used to spin nothing but melodeath all the time.

Hmmm... They say the best knowledge is self knowledge. After coming back to it and giving this album more chance it finally repaid. This album well deserves the score given to it. I remember when I was discussing this album with Grandbazaar and how he was telling me it's a very good album, and yes, I agree with him... Persistence pays off. I'm glad I kept at it because I love this album now. Long live Dark Tranquillity.
