Does not compute.

I honestly loved it in high school. I haven't watched it since then but growing up remembering lines like the Ron Jeremy coke joke. I love the part where Rocco smashes the guy's head in with the 8 ball. Or when Rocco shoots the cat and then screams at his girlfriend. "i killed your cat you druggie bitch"!

When I say people either love it or hate it, I was not including me in that statement. Just people I hear talking about it, either love it or hate it. Where I could care less about it. I saw it, I laughed, I forgot about it.

Yup. Just in the first one, though, for the back of the head thing.

That's right, bitches, claim to fame!

Food Inc - I liked the message but the delivery was a bit sleepy. Rockin soundtrack though

A Simple Plan - Somewhat silly people killing each other in snow over money THEREFORE SIMILAR TO FARGO. Pretty tense and psychologically complex, but it could have been a lot more tense/emotional/good although it was pretty good.

Alice In Wonderland - Liked it as a kids movie. Overall, it was just ok. 6/10 for me. My wife loved it though.

Sadly, yes. It has moments of brilliance but some very unnecessary parts as well. Still beats a lot movies that pass as comedy today.

Knowing - Complete and utter shit, but Nic Cage's overacting made it bearable. That shot of him in stupefied amazement as he looked at the spaceship...

Pretty much what you said... it was just okay. Too kiddish for adults, to dark for children. It had its moments though. But when the part that thrills me the most is a two-line cameo from Christopher Lee... well, that pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

I actually liked it, but it just seemed... unbalanced. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be a horror flick, or a disaster movie, or sci-fi, or what. And yeah, Cage's acting is pretty bad. He only has like... two facial expressions, and only one tone of voice. Still, I liked that it was much darker than most movies of its kind and that it went for the ending that nobody ever expects to see.

Shutter Island

The twists are pretty predictable (I could see the big one coming from the start), but it was so well done, I don't really mind too much.

Ebert takes an interesting viewpoint:

I sort of agree with him about Cage's acting - he can be great, but generally chooses the wild man routine, which is highly amusing but hardly amazing acting. And the biblical overtones of the ending were pretty obvious to me.
