This thread isn't for that sort of film, is it? Don't want any of us working men to get in trouble for inadvertently coming across that sort of thing.

Trilogy by Fernando Di Leo
1. MIlano Calibro 9
2. La Mala Ordina- Manhunt
3. The Boss

These movies heavily inspired Quentin Tarantinos movies, I advise all his fans to check them out!

Check out the intro for the first movie..

Conan The Barbarian

Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky. But Crom is your god, Crom and he lives in the earth. Once, giants lived in the Earth, Conan. And in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered. And the Earth shook. Fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters, but in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. We who found it are just men. Not gods. Not giants. Just men. The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts.

Shutter Island.

Excellent psychological thriller. I kinda figured out the twist about 20 minutes in, but there were so many weird turns in the story that I kept second guessing myself. The ending was very simple yet puzzling and ambiguous, but if you think about it long enough you'll be able to figure out its meaning. Good acting and excellent directing from Scorsese as well. It does tend to drag at bits, but the pacing is great overall.

8.5 / 10 overall from me.

I was curious about that one.
Scorsese is one of the best ever directors, and this looks like he is venturing into unchartered waters, for him at least.
So the, effects, I guess you'd call them are tastefully done?

If by effects you mean special effects, that would be a yes. They're only used in dream sequences and other moments that I can't give away without spoiling things, but when they are used it's not overblown at all.

Personally, I think you should go see it just so I'll have someone to talk about it with. :P My parents didn't like it and my girl is too smart about psychology crap for me to discuss it without feeling like an idiot.

OK, it makes sense that they would be used in dream sequence fashion, I honestly can't imagine Scorsese going all Walker-Texas Ranger (anybody that has endured an episode oe two of this show knows what I mean) with the effects, but seeing only the commercial, I had no context to base it on.
It's actually one of the very few new movies that look interesting to me. But, still, I generally wait for the DVD release; the only time I seem to make to the theater is when I take the kids.

Pretty enjoyable action movie. Do I continue with the series?

Heard very bad things about Shutter Island. It's Scorsese, FFS, he shouldn't be cranking out second-rate thrillers. Plus, I read the book ages ago so know the twist.

haha, I don't actually watch Walker, Texas Ranger but I've seen it it... Chuck oughta ashamed, or at least be embarassed.
Shit, man, I'm not that old, I don't watch fucking Matlock or anything.
In fact I don't even watch tv at all, save for the fights.
