Completely agree with the review and rating. This was one of my 'most anticipated albums' of the year and it did not disappoint. Fans of all genres will enjoy this.

I still haven't decided if I like this or Mabool better though.

Loved Mabool, so I'm glad to hear these guys have a new album out.

First listen of these guys. Personally it seems like a mixed bag, Ive listened to it 3 times, first time was 'meh'. The second time I had a whole different opinion and was blown away by it, 3rd time was also enjoyable but not as much. So seems that it requires me to be in a certain mood to really enjoy it.

I don't like this as much a Mabool. This one reminds me a lot of Amorphis, which I don't hear on Mabool. That tells me this one is a bit more streamlined and less diverse.

Amorphis aren't a bad band to be compared to, of course, but I think this one is weaker than Mabool.

Haven't listened to this band before, but I'm really enjoying this album. Might have to try out Mabool too.

Yes... This is an awesome album, but Mabool is far better.

Good album but disappointing. There is nothing that has me reaching to listen wheras Mabool is abit more diverse and heavy. This one does have some great guitar work and solos to be sure and I like it but there is something offputting for me.

I really loved Mabool but this album isnt impressive at all IMO. It does get boring pretty quickly and lacks the orginality of Mabool (and even their older work). Most of the Middle-Eastern influence on the album is taken from older Arabic/Jewish songs and is relatively generic if you are familar to that type of music. Considering their talent and that its been 6 years since Mabool was released, this is the most disappointing album of the year so far (at least for me).

Personally id give it around 70/100.

Completely agree with the score, it's a great album, though I really don't get how this sounds like Amorphis circa Eclipse or TotTL, Orphaned Land are far more progressive and have much more pronounced eastern influences.

I've always thought Amorphis and Orphaned Land are very similar bands. Sahara definitely owes a lot to Tales. They not only often have a similar sound but have a similar execution. Amorphis borrows from Finnish folk music, while Orphaned Land borrows from Israeli and Middle-Eastern folk music.

I was exited to hear both bands would be touring Europe together (with an added Ghost Brigade) this fall. I'll have to catch them somewhere, even though I saw Orphaned Land last year and Amorphis this year at Unirock Open Air Festival, Istanbul.
