This probably would've gotten around a 50 if it weren't for the second disc, which I actually really like.

I just can't get "joke" metal. I take music serious, I take metal serious. so this kind of shit is a spit in the face to TRUE metal bands and it just isn't that good.

Are you saying that musicians have to take things dead seriously when it comes to their music? If you aren't having fun with your music, what's even the point of playing it? Metal bands have been making jokes since the very BEGINNING, whether it be Austrian Death Machine making fun of Schwarzenegger, Rigor Mortis and their hilariously (and intentionally) over-the-top lyrics of murder and gore, Tankard and their stories of drinking excess amounts of alcohol in nearly ever song, and so on. Metal does NOT have to be taken as seriously as you take it, because the musicians sure as hell love to make their music both fun and funny.

Tankard and Austrian Death Machine may have fun in their lyrics, but Rigor Mortis is for real.

I find Arnie himself in Commando, Predator etc more hilarious than any mimicry.

You honestly think that lyrics about draining and drinking people's blood and making a stew out of their carcass are "For real"?

Or is your sarcasm just lost on me?

I'd have to agree with both Husker and Walnuts on this one. The band sucks, as does Lambesis' other band.

I know the band sucks, and I REALLY wanted to give this a much lower score, but the cover songs are surprisingly good, as I said before.

Haha, look at afro.

I don't like lyrics about gore and "funny" and "joke" stuff.

Another entertaining release! The playing is super tight! I still like the first album better. :dio:

The covers weren't horrible and some of the songs weren't bad.

50/100

My friend, you are misunderstanding the point of "joke metal" if you think its a spit in the face to TRUE metal bands. Take Tenacious D, for example--those guys wouldn't be doing what they're doing if they didn't actually like, or love, the stuff they're poking fun at.

Joke metal isn't made to make people like you and me, who take music seriously most of the time, feel like asses. Its to remind us that you shouldn't take anything TOO seriously--that is, to the point where you can't handle a joke about it.

Of course, joke bands are always much more fun if the music is good, which in this case unfortunately doesn't apply.

Good review Kyle, even if I don't share your enthusiasm about the covers.

The novelty wore off after about 2 minutes of that Get to Da Choppa song on the first album. Burn this shit.
