Anyway... I really don't understand why Burzum is so popular. I personally have a theory. Burzum is popular because of Varg killing euronymous and then, most "black metallers" worshiped him because "he did it for satan", although most of them know his music sucks. And today you can see tons of kids wearing burzum T-shirt, because they want to be considered "true", and probbably none of them knows what his music represents, and that it sucks.

Anyway, Varg is a crank who managed to make some good music which has proved influential. As well as some terrible music which has also proved influential.

It's interesting that he has a new album out, but he has no business talking like he alone knows what BM or BMers should be. Anyway, in tribute to this news I am going to have a day of themed music listening: "black or black-derived music that is better than Burzum in every conceivable way".

Hmmm... I can't seem to get very interested in this, somehow.
The first few Burzum albums (up to Filosofem) are very very good, approaching brilliance, in fact. But, something tells me it just won't be the same. Still, I may check it out strictly from curiosity, eventually.
