Ok, so I listened to it, and you're right it sounds like its off Rust in Peace. Am I really going to be the first person to say that maybe sounding EXACTLY like a 20 year old album isn't the best....?
It wouldn't kill him to try something new.
Megadeth tried something new with Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, Risk and The World Needs a Hero - and the more the pop, the more it sucked. Ok, not so bad like Load or Reload, but to go back to the Sound of Rust in Peace is the best thing that could happen. It's like Metallica give us a new Master of Puppets or Slayer give us a new Reign in Blood. I think that most of the Megadeth fans would kill to get a new record like Rust in Peace - and it doesn't look so bad so far...

Yeah, I guess you're not wrong. Ultimately, I'm a thrash fan, so I can definitely deal with "same old". And like I said, I'm still gonna get the album.
I just thought it warranted a mention because of one main reason: When he made Rust In Peace, he wasn't trying to make "Rust In Peace" he was just making his new album, throwing in all his new ideas and that's the way it turned out.
Ever since TSHF it seems like he's trying desperately to make lightning strike twice by making "rust in peace" using that same model of ideas.
If what we get on the album all sounds like Headcrusher, I'll be really really pleased. Even if it's not, i'll probably still be quite pleased just to have a new album. But I just can't shake the feeling he's not trying that hard anymore, that's all.
