Seriously it's gotten very bad over the last month. I can't complain really since I've been part of some of the shitstorms around here but geez it's like everyone has gotten their panties in a wad for some reason.

Tell the mods to stop locking threads, we are like drunks pissed because the pubs closed.

Good review Zad.The review is fine,sceptical and honest the way it should be.The mobs eat this shit up around here,its so embaressing.My friend who is a trend hopper loves the likes of emo/screamo/deathcore and likes this band,but knows nothing of real metal.His friends honestly believe this stuff is genuine death metal,which in turn gets my panties in a bunch.Like what you like but god damn......

I really enjoy electonics in my music,reagardless of genre and while this band employs them to varying degrees I can't enjoy this album or their style,sorry.I'd rate Attack!Attack! higher than this...power crap stomps and all.IWABO comes off as gimmicy,throwing together all those different ideas hoping it makes them sound unique.For a decent laugh listen inspired by Crotchduster I listen to The Forgotten Archetype.

It's silly and elitist.

But it sums up the difference between Deicide and Suicide Silence, no? All very well saying something is 'silly and elitist' on an underground Metal site... ooh look, you just shot yourself in the foot.

It's a descriptive term which is perfectly valid.

It's only silly and elitist if it's said with the implication that the alternative is inferior by definition.

But its also a misnomer I mean as hated as deathcore is its still a legitimized subgenre in the scene. Wouldn't that alone make it metal if its already been accepted by the metal community? Come on the only difference between Deicide and Suicide Silence are the names and reputations built by time. More metalheads are apt to say Deicide are "true" death metal because they were playing this style of music while Mitch and the gang were still in grade school or for some stupid reason like that.

Sorry, but being a legitimised subgenre is all dependent on who you ask. Deathcore is Metalcore's heavier cousin, and metalcore is anything but legitimised by the Metal underground.

Since when was Deathcore and Metalcore legitimised by the metal underground? Most sites still refuse to review anything of it at all, and that is perfectly fear in my opinion. Deathcore and Metalcore is not real metal. You don't have to be a professor to know that.

I hate to be picky, but what does this even mean? "Real Metal" as opposed to what? "Fake Metal?" What the hell makes it fake then, and where is the line drawn between real and fake Metal? Is it heaviness? Because, even though a lot of Deathcore bands are boring as fuck, in all honesty, a lot of them are "heavier"in terms of sound than a lot of bands considered to be "Real Metal." And if it's not Metal at all, then what the hell is it?

It means nothing more than pretentiousness and elitism.

Metalcore is the Nu-Metal of today, I think metal_xxx is saying, and compared to traditional/underground Metal, it lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.
