 Look here you buncha' 'noobiciles', should I enroll into a 12 step program due to my Maiden deficiency? Throw me a lifeline here! What can I say? I like the last three Maiden albums quite a bit.

Some people lacks respect of other people's opinions here.

I also like their new ones a bit. But I don't think it can compare to their early material. That's just me though. Except Lucifer's Son and a few others I think most of us would say that they still make great metal, that's the only thing that counts.

I voted for AOB.
That being said, I like all his albums (except Skunkworks - just couldn't get into that.) But, at the same time, I admit I don't really listen to any one bruce solo album from beginning to end. I flip around. Frankly (for me, anyway), his solo stuff is best listened to via my own greatest hits compilation.

Made of select KILLER tracks from all recordings. Including:

1. Magician
2. Tears of the Dragon
3. Son of a Gun
4. Born in '58
5. Freak
6. Darkside of Aquarius
7. Trumpets of Jericho
8. The Tower
9. Return of the King
10. Kill Devil Hill
etc....etc...etc...

Yes, they do continue to make fantastic music and for me, that is truly all that counts :)

Well, I never said that Iron Maiden's last three are bad albums, are great albums (I never could really get into DoD), but not comparable to their first 7... For me the average/bad albums from Iron Maiden (for IM standards, they contain great songs and a masterpiece) are NPftD, FotD, X-Factor & Virtual IX.

But usally, when I need to listen to Maiden, I go to their first 7.

That is a great song. I'm actually surprised Bruce and Rob never teamed up until then, because they interact with each other quite well. In fact, I'd say the song has one of Bruce's most menacing vocal performances ever.

And, for the record, I haven't heard any of Maiden's 90's material. The Maiden albums I own are Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Brave New World, Dance Of Death, A Matter Of Life And Death, and a compilation CD I once made with eleven 1982-1988 Maiden classics (Number of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Flight Of Icarus, Powerslave, etc.).

I agree about Bruce's performance on that track. A friend of mine showed it to me not long ago and I thought Halford was singing the entire song. He started asking if I heard who was the vocalist... I said Rob Halford, then he said who's the other one? I said it's Rob Halford! Then his slimy smile kept growing bigger...

As for you not having heard 90's Maiden... You should really get "Fear Of The Dark". That album has some awesome underrated tracks. "Judas Be My Guide", "The Fugitive", "Chains Of Misery"... those are great songs.

Skunkworks for sure. I'm very disappointed that there was no second album like this. I like the sci-fi flavoured proggy goodness. Strange Death in Paradise is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Way back, in the late 1996 or early 1997, something like that anyways, I was eagerly waiting what kind of material Ol' Brucie delivers that time around... Having been slightly disappointed with Skunkworks, I was totally psyched after hearing that Bruce was in the making of new album with the Tribe of Gypsies guys again, and when it was announced that there was little extra in the lineup in form of mr Smith, I was about to explode in excitement... I was so young and tender then..

And the group was able to bring us an album that for me is still Dickinson's best soloeffort. Omega is propably my favourite song of them all (closely followed by Tears of a Dragon from BtP)... So I had no other option than voting for AoB.
