This song combines everything awesome about The Mars Volta in 3 minutes :)

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I've come to like Since We've Been Wrong, but I'm glad the entire album won't be like that.

This song is amazing.

it's not bad, i just think that an acoustic Mars Volta album would be so cool. i really like their softer side, so a whole album of them exploring that would be like candy for me

With Twilight As My Guide is the best song ever written.

Maybe a bit of hyperbole there. But not that much.

Im getting really excited about this. If they don't meet my expectations with this one, they will have to disband.

What do you expect? I wouldn't go into it expecting an epic and intense concept album like De-Loused, Frances or Bedlam in Goliath. It's got the chill feeling of Amputechture but with a focus on writing short, catchy songs.

I don't think they've put out a great album since Comatorium.

An occasional great song here and there since. So I'll check this out but won't be in a tizzy.

imo they've only put out like two, maybe three, not-great songs in their whole career.

Those are probably the ones I consider highlights.

The only not-so-great Volta song I can think of is Agadez, but that's only for the weird sleazy first half. The second half gets so fucking amazing it kills me.

Oh wait, there's also that last song from Amputechture. Seriously, that song is bullshit.

Yeah, I was thinking of El Ciervo Vulnerado, Vermicide (not really bad, but I always forget it exists), and Cavalettas (the way it disappears is annoying, and the YOU'VE GOT THAT GUILTY SMILE part is more annoying than awesome).

Hahah, no one likes El Ciervo Vulnerado. That and Soothsayer, and possibly Cassandra Geminni are the only weak songs they've done, mind.

Friend pointed out that there's no horns or latin jazz influence on this album.
