I think you were a bit hard on this one, Adam. It's a damn sight better than Diatribes, they took their experimental sound and made a fair few good songs here.

And Brutal Death Metal on the title track... eh?

I don't know, the way he screams "INSIDE THE TORN APAAAARRRT!!!", the riffs are heavy and pounding. That was the best I could do for a description, but I know in the context of what people consider brutal death, that was a poor choice of words.

I don't think this is a bad album, just not enough WOW moments for me. Then again, I didn't rate Diatribes as low as you did either.

Napalm Death's pure Death Metal stuff never did anything for me. I was happy as a clam when they went back to blasting grind goodness. This one's OK, but nothing really stands out in the long run. For me it all just becomes one big blur of average. It's not bad, but I don't think these guys are capable of putting out "bad" music.

I'd essentially agree with this, but I do think Words From the Exit Wound was pretty good as far as their DM stuff goes.

Hm, this is my favourite ND album - maybe their grind core stuff is too much grind core. Grind core is for me too chaotic.

Wuss

This is one of the few I haven't heard by ND, but their death metal stuff never did anything for me either. I might get to it eventually though.

I like more the grooving Death Metal (if it has to be DM) like Obituary or Six Feet Under. And Inside... is IMO very groovy. Words from the Exit wound was also in that way, Enemy of the Music Business was for me not more catchy enough...
