I know you guys reviewed Sumerian daemons a long time ago, what did you guys think of Communion. Did any of you see them on tour with Cradle of filth?

I'm pretty sure Zad reviewed Communion, which was a fucking awesome album. The clean vocals were the highlight for me.

I loved Communion but to me it was more of a case of an excellent album compared to a stellar release which in my opinion Sumerian Daemons was.

Not heard SD. Communion was pretty great, should investigate them further...

Communion is really awesome... was 3 in my top 5 doom/gothic of 2008. But I agree Sumerian Daemons is slightly better.

I'd make the claim that SD isn't as good as Communion. It wasn't as melodic.

Sumerian Daemons is a lot catchier than Communion, and it offers a much more varied listen, too.

Badass band. I love Sumerian Daemons.

Communion is great, but I think Sumerian is my fav.

These guys are an awesome band and I'm really glad they put out another album.

Masters of Atmospheric Death Metal, 'Virtues of The Beast' of their 'Sumerian Daemons' album is a fucking classic. usually a band that needs constant playing to be digested or not to the liking at all.

i think they are very digestible for melodic death metal fans, I introduced Septicflesh to a fan of mid era In flames and he loved them.

I haven't heard anything from this band. Any recommendations?

The only thing that tears me away from their past works is the production, since I was introduced to them with Communion.Thankfully I've got an open mind and can enjoy it,but the sheer ferocity and energy that storms its way through Communion is amazing,as well as the songwriting.Much of their older works are good, but definitely softer and simpler, imho.Still like them though.Virtues of the Beast and Mechanical Babylon blow me away every time.

Ophidian Wheel was a great album in its time. As for the new ones, I agree SD is better than Communion, it has more substance and has aged better than Communion, in my playlist at least.

communion was well done though it just doesn't compete with how godly Sumerian daemons was.
I haven't heard Revolution DNA yet though.

Rev DNA was pretty good too. It was more industrialized, as far as I remember. It's been awhile.
