He's so lovable. Why on earth release this, probably the album intro, when everyone just wants to hear some RIFFS! and UGHS! from the guy? Hence disclaimer.

And new 1349! :dio:

Well that was pointless. It was basically a 30 second intro stretched out for minutes on end. I was hoping for an actual song.

What if that is what all the songs just sound like?

New 1349 has me interested. They are what got me into black metal but I haven't dug them out in forever.

I love how he can never just say something in a simple way. Instead of "I really like the new song" he's "deeply intoxicated." Tom G. Warrior is waayyy too melodramatic. It seems like every time he's interviewed he's fresh off a philosophical debate and still "deeply, deeply, entrenched in chasm that is his mind....er... thought producing entity."

he uses a lot of huge terms in describing his music it can be seen as melodramatic, but if you listen to Monotheist and read the lyrics its understandable.

What did you all think of Monotheist?

There was that one amazing song with a video. The rest wasn't really memorable.

A dying god coming into human flesh? Yeah. Heaviest song ever.

i liked it too it was bleak sounding, I wish I was around at least once in the eighties to capture them at their pinnacle.

I loved Monotheist, A Dying God... was utterly sick though. And if he was going to make Celtic Frost-like material, why didn't he just stay in that band?

Then that would be awful, and who the hell would want that anyways? We already have one Daudi Balders, and that's one too many.

Highly underrated band. Just as brutal as Marduk, but far more interesting, especially in the drumming.

1349 are underrated, even more underground metal mags don't mention them a lot. Hellfire was a great album.

Metal Hammer had a two page article on 1349 in an issue once. Lulz.

Heard Blakagir - Carpathian Art of Sin? It's more like Hildskalf than Daudi Baldrs, but absolutely puts the counts ambient work to shame.
