I read this a few hours ago but I think Rob Flynn had Lil' Wayne or some rapper in his list and then Cavalera had an album (Gypsy Punks) from 2005 on his list.

I was hoping that was a joke. Though Matt Heafy has two Coldplay albums on his list, so it's hard to give him the benefit of the douchebag doubt.

Well, if you're not into mindless brutality and overly technical stuff, then yeah, they're really crappy. I personally don't like them but I know some who swear by them. Personally, I draw the line at the last Prostitute Disfigurement album. Avoided them in the past mostly because of the name and vocal style but the last album kicks serious ass. Brutal and technical, yes... but unlike Brain Drill, still musical. It's pretty much the most brutal I'll go to, though.

Anyway, as for these lists... well, I've got plenty of non-metal albums in my 2008 top list myself... but I have to say these aren't my thing at all. By far the "best" and most metal list in there is Shawn Drover's. Some of his choices are contenders in my top 25 of 2008, so yeah. I'm not very surprised though since I always liked Eidolon. Here's to hoping for a new Eidolon album instead of an average Megadeth album...

They have Mike Portnoy's list on the roadrunner website. Other than his love for Death Magnetic and Slipknot, I kind of agree with his... in spirit. Other than that there are only a few decent lists, plus a couple "wtf?" lists.

Devourment pwns Prostitute any day of the week, except in the album-making department lately (anytime soon guys!).

But yeah, Trivium are fucking tools and their "samurai concept" album blows worst than their Metallica cover CD.

I missed that because I couldn't believe that Coldplay was on their list. That is unbelievably gay, just like on the last Unholy Alliance Tour they said that who doesn't like Trivium is a pussy even though they were the softest fucking band there.

They actually had the balls to say that? Just because Kerry King listens to them doesn't mean the whole world has to. Plus, Kerry King has been having pretty bad taste in music lately.

Well if that's the case, then the pussy count would be well over a million, not including the girls.

Actually in a previous issue of Terrorizer, Kerry King said he doesn't like them and doesn't know who they are, or something like that.

Yeah, because they were placed above them on the bill. Yet didn't they play together a few times before? He might have been joking, and it didn't come over very well.

I remember him (Kerry) praising them in an interview. He went "Damn those guys can play their guitars. Skillful etc.....They're bringing thrash back".

I heard this from a friend who is a massive Slayer fan. He felt very disturbed, like he just got anally violated. He kept saying "How the hell could he like them?" the whole day.

Wow . . . now I guess I know why I listen to so few Roadrunner artists . . . .

And people are perfectly entitled to have favorite albums for the year that aren't metal---it's not all I listen to either . . . but the metal that all of those RR staffers really like barely crosses paths with anything I do. Here and there, but mostly not so much. Some hot girls working there, though . . . cute girls that like metal is a never a bad thing.

And yeah, whenever you see artist lists---especially more trendy artists---their picks never seem terribly sincere . . . methinks a lot of glad-handing their peers, and picks that will make them seem "cool" or in-the-know.

Kerry King has also sung praises of Chimaira, a truly shit band. He said they remind him of Slayer in the early days.

Chimaira are a million times better than Trivium. They're one of the better bands to come from the metalcore explosion.
