Same here... listened to some samples of the album and it sounded heavier than previous material. Really like the song-titles from the album too.

Man, this is such a freaking great album. It's terrible how life can be cruel at times. I hope Blaze finds the strength to carry on because as Marty said, this albums takes a few average efforts from 2008 and destroys them.

I thoroughly enjoy this one from start to finish. I've never felt that the CD bogged down anywhere. Blaze has been through quite a bit recently but I hope that it fuels his creativity because if this CD serves as a representation of what he's truly capable of then better things are yet in store from Blaze. :dio:

Don't really know Blaze's story that well, but truly sad and tragic how he reconnected with and married his wife, who got him back on his feet and moving forward again from his troubles, only to then to have her pass. Hopefully she gave him the strength he needs now to persevere.

Strong material, what I have heard from this album, but I agree with the reviewer that his voice is a bit of an acquired taste for many. I like that he operates from a mid range base and doesn't indulge in the wailing, yodeling highs that derail a lot of traditional and power metal. I think he is solid, tuneful, but just really unspectacular . . . and I don't mean that as a dig, just an honest reaction to what I hear. Which is why I always wondered why Maiden picked him as a replacement for BD. He is a respectable, working man's metal vocalist, there is just nothing distinct or really compelling about his voice. But again, as for the songs overall, what I have heard from this album is solid, punchy, likeable, metal. Best of luck to him.

I've been wanting to get this album for sometime but can't find it a decent price? Maybe I will just dowload it (Leagally of Course) but I am one who likes to have the actual hardware in my collection!

Anyway from the sound clips I have heard this does sound awesome! I have always loved Blaze's voice on his solo stuff anyway.

It's weird to hear him sing on the Maiden albums cause he sounds very unsure of himself and very weak at times. I find it puzzling because he sounds very confident and powerful on his own solo records?

I expected good things from this album, as I've enjoyed the majority of his previous work, but this album under-achieved in my eyes. Not as good as I was expecting

I love this album. The title track is very powerful and lets you know from the beginning that the album is gonna kick ass. The only problem I have is the choruses that just repeat the title of the song over and over again. Interestingly enough that also bothers me with some of Iron Maiden's newer stuff. A Crack in the System is probably the best example of this and my least favorite track.

Ok, so I broke down and downloaded this one off amazon cause I can't find the actual cd anywhere under $20. Hated to do it but this review plus the fact I've been wanting this album forever made me do it.

After listening to it I have to agree with Marty's review and most comments here. This album is Killer and is Blaze's best overall front to back! It's kind of modern and old school at the same time. I like the extra heaviness and it's raw and in your face! I do like all of Blaze's solo albums however.

I really dig his voice a lot. I dunno why exactly. What's funny about the vocals this time is it sounds like he barely uses any effect and not even much if any compression? to even things out. It caught me a little off guard at first but I like it now.

Still can't get over the amount of power he has in his voice now compared to when he sang in Maiden. Though the Maiden material at that time was so weak maybe it didn't inspire him. Perhaps if Dickinson would have been the singer at that time people may have been saying Dickinson's lost a lot of his abilities etc....when indeed it was just boring material?

Mine too, the only one I occassionally skip. Other than that, this album is as solid as they come, with plenty of highlights. One of the best heavy metal albums of the last few years.
