Been watching Season 1 of Californication lately; a funny, if sometimes overly dramatic, overall good show, though nothing special. Duchovny does a good job, and I do like the fact that all the books he's written take their titles from Slayer albums. :dio:

I'm thinking about watching that show. Do you think I'd like it if I'm into more dramas than comedies?

I'm 9 episodes in, and I'd say the drama only starts getting good at around episode 8, though there are some good moments in earlier episodes. Generally, though, so far I've enjoyed it much more for the comedy than the drama, which has gotten cheesy at points. Still recommended, just don't expect anything too amazing.

1 episode in. I thought Americans didn't like seeing breasts on their TV?
It's on Showtime at 10pm. They can get away with it because people have to pay extra for it.

I don't know if England has Showtime but I remember France having it.

Watched the three first episodes of Heroes - Season 2. So far I think it's good. Will be interesting to see if it can eventually get to the greatness of the last five episodes of season one.

Just started the first season of Arrested Development. I forgot how funny it was.

The two new episodes of Scrubs last night were excellent. Especially the second one. A lot of times Scrubs fails at doing semi-serious episodes but it was a welcome departure from that trend.

I've become oddly obsessed with naff daytime cookery show Come Dine With Me. The best part is how everyone, including the voice-over guy, is aware the contestants are an insufferable bunch of thundercunts.

So it stays at the same level as season 3?

Watching Stargate Atlantis season 3. So far it stays at the same level of quality as the two previous seasons. Interesting how the manage to make a new "story" for every damn episode...

i'd say so. the story isn't quite as intriguing as it (seems like it) has mostly been revealed, but the action is very much subject to the same kind of "have to do it now without a minute tospare" tension as in series 1 and 3. mind you there still is a story.

A question for those who watch 24:

I stopped watching about halfway through season 3, so I was wondering if the show ever began to address the wider plot that was hinted at in seasons 1 and 2 (ie, the person Nina was working for, and something with someone named Max who had orchestrated a lot of the events of season 2 or something, who I think may have been connected to Nina). Because if so, I might consider starting to watch it again, but otherwise... There's only so many 24 hour plots to destroy the world I can handle.

Sort of. I can't really remember, to be honest. It's certainly more about the DESTROY THE WORLD than the evil plots.

Started The Wire. Ooh, so far so good.

My gf got me the first season of Dexter, just started watching today and it's definitely worth the time spent.

More Curb Your Enthusiasm (utterly hilarious) and the complete West Wing arrived today, so that'll be fun to get into.
