so i was reading Metro just now and there was a report on a new trend called "flexitarianism", which apparently consists of a vegetarian eating meat only every now and then. WOW, WHAT A RADICAL DEPARTURE FROM THE REGULAR DIET!

half-assed vegetarianism is what i call it. jesus.

where do these people get off, making up terms like metrosexual and flexitarian? i wish i could strangle these jerks.

I try to eat less meat than I used to, so I guess that term kind of describes me, but it is really annoying and idiotic trying to give it a name. Why must everything have a stupid label?

and to me it sounds like a nicer name for would-be vegetarians who can't stick to their commitment. it describes a "vegetarian" (probably complete with holier-than-thou attitude) who occasionally eats meat - so not really a vegetarian.

What's the shitty music?

And I've never heard "flexitarian" before. That's just pathetic. Want the same feeling of unwarranted superiority, but don't want to make a commitment to not eat meat? Call yourself a flexitarian!

I like meat too much to give it up, even though I keep meaning to try vegetarianism out.

Meat is indeed too good to give up, but I never really felt the compusion to be a vegetarian.

If I ever did, though, I'd move to India. That's the only cuisine I can think of where the vegitarian food doesn't suck.

i guess i'm kind of a flexitarian because i never cook meat for myself but if i'm at someone's house or whatever and food is being offered to me, i won't be like "zomg that's touched meat i won't eat it." i usually do my best to pick the meat out because i don't like the taste or texture

it surprises me people have a hard time cooking a dinner without meat, and i support people who try to just eat it once or twice a week rather than every day. giving them a name is probably pretty silly though. not as bad as people who are "vegetarian except they eat fish," though. fuck them. especially since they're common enough that people actually ask me if i eat fish when they know i'm a vegetarian

and wtf people distinguishing between meat and fish? except for health reasons and maybe resources used to get them there is no difference, and you're still eating animals.

as for giving up meat i think it would be very easy, but then again we don't eat meat in my home so it would just be a matter of replacing less than 20% of my diet.

lol i'm indian :P and what about Italian food? if you like pizza and pasta with meat, you'll almost surely like it without.

Fish aren't cute, is what it is. I support PETA as much as the next lefty, but for god's sake, support an animal that you can't call Cassie the Cow or whatever braindead nonsense you're trying to put together to humanise something so clearly not human.

PETA is so full of shit it's not even funny.

There are some good vegetarian pasta recipes, and maybe some good veggie pizza recipes, but I honestly can't imagine eating Italian and not having at least a bit of meat with it.

vegetarian pizza and pasta are great, especially because tofu works really well in them because there's so many other things for it to absorb flavour from

Bastards. I hope they're ok, Chabad is looked at as slightly odd, but they're harmless and generally some of the nicest Jews I've ever met.
