I finished Buffy season 2- goddamn, that ending was amazing and incredibly depressing. I'm happy I gave Buffy another chance, because 50% of the time its absolutely amazing, 35% of the time its at least funny and entertaining, and the other 15%.... well, it would have been nice if they had cut some episodes.

So, I'm moving onto season 3. I also found Deadwood season 2 for cheap, so I'm looking forward to getting back into that noble world of whores and gunfights and limp dicked cocksuckers.

I've wanted to watch Buffy for a while now, but I'm reluctant to the type of shows where there's a new story for each episode. I usually get really bored with those. Is Buffy easy to watch despite that?

Its actually not like that. Out of the 22 episodes in season 2, probably 14 or so contribute to the overall storyline (so don't worry, there is one, and it is quite good), and most of the standalones involve the major storyline in some way, and at least are used most of the time to develop the characters. Some of the standalones are also just ridiculously entertaining.

But ya, I really do recommend watching Buffy. I was skeptical too, but it is much better than its name suggests. I also do recommend reading a recap of season one, or maybe just watching the premiere, the episode Angel and the finale, because season 2 is really just much much better.

I might do that, actually. Only ever watched a bit of s1 of Buffy, and it was not good, to say the least.

Buffy definitely got better as it went along. The characters became less, not entirely though, stereotypical and more defined which made the show have a solid ensemble of characters because honestly sometimes I could just care less about Buffy's storylines.

Nice. Season 4 is a bit meh, but the fifth season is really good so far.

Yes!

The first few seasons are fantastic. I stopped watching at season 5 because the show wasn't really going anywhere, but I totally recommend watching at least the first season, it'll get you hooked.

I only ask, of course, after seeing the girl playing Lois Lane in a bikini.

Blah; its always been the most inconsistent show ever. Sometimes its awesome, sometimes its horrible, and lately the balance has been towards the horrible. I watch the first two and last two episodes of each season, and then any other episodes that have been rated well.

Finished Buffy Season 3- probably consistently better than season 2, and it has some incredibly awesome and funny episodes, but it never does quite as amazing as season 2 sometimes could- but hell, there are few shows that could ever beat the season 2 two part finale.

Which means I've started Deadwood season 2! Al Swearengen, E.B., Doc Cochran, and Clenchy McBullock, how I've missed you all and your creative uses of the words cocksucker and fuck. And the dialogue is amazing. Metrical, poetic (well, as poetic as you can get when every fifth word involves cock somehow) and just awesome in every way.

Tonight's South Park was VERY good. Now that all of the characters have been assassinated, and all the self-consciousness due to the Family Guy-feud seems to be all over with, Matt and Trey seem to be having a return to form. Hopefully they'll give up trying to solve all of the world's problems with each episode, and start making fun of them instead.

One thing that still sucks though, is the fact that Cartman's voice sounds almost exactly like Stan's.
