This is actually a pretty cool song. I agree with another poster that it's a nice mix of Load/ReLoad, The Black Album, and a little bit of And Justice For All in Kirk's solo. It also reminds me a bit of POT-era Anthrax, with a touch of Monster Magnet in the main riff.

The song does sound a little jumbled, but that may be because it's the band's first time playing it live. So they probably need to play it a few times to get used to it. Especially since they haven't performed a new song since St. Anger.

I think the new song is one of the most boring songs I've heard in a long time. Metallica has always been boring IMO but that one was just to much. No screw this band, they should have quit a long time ago.

Agreed. This song is boring. The bassthing doesn't fit at all imo. The vocals do suck a whole lot. I guess it will be better on the album though. To me it sounds like it isn't put together right.

Seeing them live 2 weeks ago got my hopes up for this. They sounded great. This song is ok, let's just hope it's not the best song on the record or anything.

The title track from St. Anger was a better first listen. Though that had the benifit of being a studio version.

After hearing Cyanide, I think that Metallica can very well make a comeback. No, it will not be thrash, and perhaps that's for the better, since the majority of thrash is absolute shit nowadays.
