Well I can't blame you for not liking it, it's nu-metal in the end. You are not missing anything. It's just a better album of an overall bad genre.

I would categorize Turbonegro as punk-rock.

Wait a sec...why on earth are we all having disputes over nu-metal or turboniggy or whatever? Stop wasting your time, and run along to the black metal forum...

the thing is Turbonegro IS NOT nu metal... they used to be tone of the best punk bands on earth and now turned into the classier rock outfit on their godly Scandinavian Leather.. so, sure, it's not metal but it might appeal to many metalheads.

I don't see how it could possibly be a waste of time !

I really don't give a fuck about what is nu metal and what is rock. And I don't know them very well so I can't categorize those bands.
I only know about metal.

Perhaps that's why you don't seem too aware of the nu-metal influences on Slayer's recent output (here's another thing you may be interested in knowing - Kerry King is constantly praising Slipknot's guitarist and has been for quite a while).

Stop this man! Kerry Kind did this Kerry King did that... Sometimes you gotta get past things and try to enjoy the music. This is the case here, no matter what they do or say they're important to me. I still remember myself as the 11 year old boy headbanging to Raining Blood while her mother is in the room, totally shocked . Now that I've grown up and my musical taste has improved (unholy BM  ) I still don't forget where I came from.

I liked GHUA and I never saw any nu-metal influences at all. I'm sure I'll love the next album too.

And knowing shit about nu-metal is not bad at all. Makes it easy to like things without prejudice.

I thought I broke you in the System of a Down thread.

A Chimaira review is needed! I shalt break thee even further.

Slayer's last album is a 60/100, pretty enjoyable... Definetely not nu-metal... Of course it does not even get close to Hell Awaits, Reign In Blood, Season In The Abyss etc
Oh and Kerry King can plaY!! :)

Mudvayne's L.D. 50 is a very good album and very technical compared to all the Nü shit that was around when it came out. Plus, the bass player and the drummer are very good players.

I must say I enjoy that album now and then...

I always thought Disturbed was half-decent for a nu-metal band. I heard their singer praise Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in interviews, which was cool, and it was interesting to hear his comments on the 80's metal scene.

From what I've read, Disturbed was actually a death metal band before David Draiman joined, so while he might praise the old school, he definate ushered in the nu.

i have seen disturbed twice
They are probably the only nu-metal band i like now a days. When seeing them live its is easy to see that death metal thread in the other guys. When playign there stuff off the sickness you can really see it, the vocals are allot ruffer.

Im gonna blame the production then for ushering the nu-metal into disturbed, all though the clean vocals of david are pushing it along.

All in all my favorite band i here on the radio.

Don't forget Atreyu and Funeral for a Friend. Or are those not even considered metal at all?
