I wasn't too impressed with the new Witch album. The debut is better. This album is missing that slow, eery sound of the debut.

Even though that wasn't directed at me, I still feel the need to respond. For the record, I could care less if a band can be found at Hot Topic. If I did, I would hate Opeth and Mastodon, but I don't.

I just think The Sword are a very bland and unimaginative version of early stoner/trad doom. If you like them, cool. I just find them to be painfully mediocre...at best. And, as Holy_Terror-ish as it sounds, the fact that people constantly say that they are one of the best doom bands while legitimate kickass doom bands who play the same style better get by and large ignored makes me hate them even more.

indeed, they're more of a noisy hard rock band than a doom band now now. i still love it though because songs like "Psychotic Rock" are just fucking intense.

No, my comment was not directed at you. You can articulate your thoughts in ways that show they're real thoughts, not mere reflections of trends. "Ew" is a response from someone who really doesn't understand the subject at hand.

As for The Sword, I don't really view them as a straight up doom band. There are elements there, but not enough to label them just doom. Either way, I think they're a great band, but not nearly the greatest. You ever heard Valkyrie (one of many) from Virginia?

Singer sounds a lot like the dude from The Sword. Kick ass band, though. More traditional doom style.

Yeah, it's a good album, but since I think the debut is brilliant, I couldn't help but be let down from this one. I was just expecting something else, I guess. I spin it every now and again. Hopefully it really clicks at some point.

i've heard of Beehoover, been meaning to listen to them since i saw their album at the top of a couple best of 07 stoner rock lists. both guys are part of Voodooshock who i didn't like too much though.

A epic trad doom album about Conan is about as metal as it gets as far as i am concerned. Zad or anbody, are you going to review this? I like this new album a lot more than their last two. Karl has really evolved as a singer since Suffer No Guilt

I reviewed one of their albums here, and pimped them all over the forum. I then made the mistake of saying I liked The Sword over at the Hellride Music forums, where the band posts at. Bad move. Haha.

I don't think I've ever received that many death threats in such a short period of time...
