There are really some excellent series on TV currently. Jerciho's second season is kicking into top gear with excellent pacing, acting and action. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is the best new series and lives up to the whole Terminator name.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles isn't doing so well.. it's on the verge of cancellation from what I heard. In my opinion it's very far from being the best new show, my vote goes to Chuck.

The show just got picked up for another 13 episodes!! Yeah!!

Oh for fuck's sake...

My bet is they won't even get to air half of those as it'll surely get an early cancellation next fall. Too many better shows are on the air right now and that's not counting the new shows that will debut next fall.

Your predictions have been spot on so far. Let's hope they stay that way.

The show barely survived so my predictions weren't that off. The only reason it survived was due to the writers strike. They simply want to see if it'll do better next year without the long hiatus. If they were so sure about themselves why only renew it for half a season ? Like mentioned before, all points to high probabilities that it will eventually get canceled if it doesn't get decent viewer ratings, especially since it's a high budget series. Only time will tell.

Get your facts straight.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 5ceb5ff4df

From the article: "Connor," which launched in January, is the highest-rated new scripted series this season among adults 18-49 with an average of a 4.4 rating/10 share. The Warner Bros. TV-produced series drew an average of 10.5 million total viewers.

"Connor" had been considered a shoo-in for a renewal, along with Fox's freshman comedy "Back to You," which has yet to be picked up.

Has anybody heard of the show called The Shield?

IMO an awesome cop show. With the man himself, Michael Chiklis.

And, more people need to watch Dexter.

Waiting for s1 of The Shield to come, and might well pick up Dexter when it's out over here, sounds interesting...

I watched The Shield up to season 4 I think, then it got a bit boring, but it was a solid show. Dexter on the other hand is one of the most intense shows I've ever seen, highly recommended.

After having seen the first season I've become really addicted to Friday Night Lights. It's easily the best "teenage drama" I've seen. I was surprised to see how good the acting and writing is, and more importantly how confident the directing is. It has also got wonderful music by Explosions in the Sky.

Online petition for it's renewal mentions ratings were disappointing.
http://www.petitiononline.com/scconfox/petition.html

"Also, the ratings weren't that great, and that was while competing against a strike-addled prime time landscape"
http://www.buddytv.com/articles/terminator-the-sarah-connor-chronicles/terminator-the-sarah-connor-ch-17458.aspx

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles wasn't the ratings hit that FOX had likely hoped for. FOX hyped the living hell out of the series prior to air, and the first episode pulled in a big audience, but after that the ratings were just OK. "
http://www.buddytv.com/articles/terminator-the-sarah-connor-chronicles/terminator-the-sarah-connor-ch-18738.aspx

"the show suffered a ratings drop from a 11.11 for the series premiere, 6.2 for the second episode, to a 5.0 for the season finale (which was actually up 0.6 points from two episodes prior)"
http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/04/19/terminator-the-sarah-connor-chronicles-will-be-back-for-a-second-season/

Check the Nielsen ratings table shows how mediocre it's ratings where as the season passed:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sarah_Connor_Chronicles

you can also check the futon critics website for rating stats.
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch.aspx?id=sarah_connor_chronicles

You can see it was never really tops on nights it played with the exception of the premiere. In fact, it trailed quite far from the top shows. Like I mentioned before, this is a high budget production so thinking this series is on a limb isn't far fetched. If Fox doesn't get the desired ratings next fall "the trigger happy" network will surely cancel it.

I started watching Lost season 1. I'm 4 episodes in and enjoying it so far, though hoping that this isn't one of those shows where we only start getting answers 48485744945 episodes in.

I really, really hate that show. The first season was good because they kept the intensity level constant. Then suddenly the writers have no idea what they're doing and they just start improvising. In spite of the fact that the show is obviously going nowhere, the network orders like 6 new seasons or whatever and the writers start cooking up a bunch of shitty ideas to keep it running for as long as possible. The show still has huge ratings though and it looks like it's not ending soon.

Stick with it, Brahm. The depth of character is great, and they feed you just enough info to keep you fascinated. I love Lost.

I'm at exactly the same stage. WAT A POLAR BEAR?

Although I've recently sort of accidentally watched a couple of episodes from the 4th season with the Mrs which is now confusing the hell out of me with all the back-and-forthing.

I'll try and stick to S1 from now on.

Ya, seriously, out of all the mysteries (people whispering in the woods? Kate's crime? Is Locke the coolest person ever or a Risk playing TPS reporting character from Office Space?) the polar bear one is the one thats the coolest. I mean, its a polar bear! Thats some crazy ass shit there.

Anyway, about 10 episodes in now and its picking up stride. Like Zad said, I really like the feel the show has for characters- its impressive that in 10 episodes I've really began to feel for some of them, like Charlie, Locke, Sun and Michael. Hopefully the plot won't derail as Edge warns, but I'm definitely going on with this.

I started Lost again and I'm planning on catching up with the tv schedule in a few weeks. It's a great show. I dunno why I stopped watching it. The chicks are hot, the story is good, the place is just beautiful, what's not to like?

Finished the last three Boston Legal episodes.

Best damn legal dramedy out there.

Also started with Frasier 10. This is great comedy.

Heheh, really getting into that lately. James Spader's character is great, and Denny Crane is beyond awesome. Pity real-life law firms have such a smaller number of hot chicks...

Apparently it has been renewed for a 7th season.

So, I'm on season 2 of Lost now, and am enjoying it a lot. The main weakness of the show is that they don't need 24 episodes per season, like just about every show that has 24 episodes per season; that just means that there are filler episodes that are boring. Another weakness is Kate, who's just about the blandest character on the show. But its impressive that with the number of characters they do have, how well developed most of them are and how much I do care about them. I just wish they didn't draw out some of the answers so long, like what the monster is and what was in the hatch (though I was definitely not expecting what there was in there to be there).
