Their best album in years but still far from the magic of the first years... 65/100 for me.

Good prog rock

No but seriously this band is pretty good. I need to dig further into their catalogue.

A very good mixed bag. They're a band that evolves and reinvents themselves each time out. That sort of band is always going to stray beyond the boundaries of certain fans' tastes. But does that make their stuff bad? Well, we all know the answer is no.

For instance, I absolutely love Manic Moonlight. I think it's an outstanding album. A lot of people flat out hate it, though. It was too experimental.

Either way, if you get King's X, then you'll find something to love on every album. If you don't get it all, then you'll find something to love in at least a handful of albums. The band is briliiant. And their solo projects are killer!

By the way, I can't believe "Pray" doesn't get a mention in this review. I personally think it could be a pretty big hit for the band.

Indeed, that's what I meant or I would have said the rest was a pile of crap...

Glad you mentioned that Ken....I accidentally put "Blue" with "Love and Rockets" as the more Grunge styled sounding tunes but I meant to put "Pray" where Blue is...fixed now.

And as far as "Manic Moonlight"...definately one of the most experimental albums they did. Took me a while to accept it for what it was. I have to be in the mood to listen to it but there are some really good tracks on it. Different but still good.

That and a way to up a review for a majorly underappreciated band.

Ah, I see. Didn't come off that way.

Very good band indeed, and definitely unsung, as you point out.
