And he thought Jon was an egomaniac. Odd pairing, no matter how you look at it.

This is NOT the move to help Timmy carve out his own identity. What's the issue with simply going with his own band??? Must he always align with a well established band/musician? Odd indeed.

Tim makes his living in the music business and has a wife and kid to support. He's mentioned before that Priest wasn't touring enough when he fronted the band for him to support his family. Beyond Fear is likely going to continue but I doubt that it pays the bills. I suspect that the offer of a regular paycheck may have been the main reason for joining up with Yngwie as opposed to true artistic reasons.........

This could work Boals was a high pitched screamer but Ripper 's got a heavier edge. Didn't realise Boals was in Royal Hunt and they had released a sequel to Paradox the original was great but I prefer DC Cooper.

Is he still going to do Winters Bane or is that out of the question?

This should be quite an interesting duo to say the least.Hope Tim realizes that Malmsteen is more strict versus Schaffer.

I am very interested in hearing this.

You know regardless of money concerns and egos , Tim Owens has been receiving opportunities to sing with some of metal's finest. To jump from a cover/tribute band to fronting JP and now stints in IE and Yngwie, if I'm Tim Owens, I'm wetting my pants. Just from a fan boy's perspective.

Cool, I'll definitely be checking out any album they make together.

I'll give it a year before I hear that Doogie White replaced Owens to sing for Malmsteen again.

Yeah I honestly don't expect it to last very long. Though I wouldn't mind if they proved me wrong.

This will be awesome. I was just wondering about Yngwie the other day. "His music used to be so damn amazing, how is he going to impress next?" Anyway, I'm pretty pumped about this.

Tim, yet again, is just playing second fiddle. He's more like a filler. If there's any vacancy for a vocalist's spot in any band, he's more likely to join them only to be shown the exit door once a previous vocalist returns or the band has found a new singer. I'll give him 2 years with Malmsteen or 2 albums at max.

EDIT: After listening to the 'Mr. Crowley' cover, I'll give the partnership 1 year and 1 album max. Anyway I'm a fan of neither individuals so I just don't give 2 cents bout it. Malmsteen just irritates me with his playing. Killed the whole Crowley solo with his wanking.

I saw Dougie front Malmsteen when he toured Melbourne in 2007 and he couldnt sing to save himself that night. Last time Malmsteen came to Melbourne he had Boals out front and Boals fnnn killed them.
Gee , Owens will have any impress resume when its all said and done.

The one time I saw Malmsteen live (in Sweden, weird hearing a Scottish voice up on stage  ) I nearly dies of boredom.

I think the set list went:
Song
Guitar solo
Song with extended guitar solo
Guitar solo
Song with extended guitar solo leading into Guitar solo
Song

So yawnsome.

Does anyone think if Tim had been sacked by Schaffer two weeks earlier he'd have ended up in Anthrax?

I wouldn't have thought so but now that he joined Yngwie I definitely think it would have happened.

I really don't know how Tim got too front so many great bands, when his voice either sounds like a second rate Dio or Halford without being unique in the slightest.

Are you fucking deaf? Or have just never listened to Dio?

I never really got into Tim with Priest as I stopped listening to them when Halford left my mistake. I thought he was great in IE and his bands debut and don't care if he sounds similar to Halford he can really mix it up. Shit Jorn Lande sounds like the son of David Coverdale and he's got a great voice.

Fuck yes I listen to Dio. Depending on the song he changes his voice sounding like those 2 singers. Although I could be being hard on him because Matt fronted Iced Earth is so much better.
