Fuck, discover Christ and get a decent job already, would you? You sound more Daily Mail than I do...

Wow, that takes some doing!

I went to this bar in copenhagen where the sign said shots of liquor were 10 for 100 kr ($20 approx) in happy hour so I order 10 shots of whiskey and was informed that it I owed 450 kr because the happy hour special only applied to the gross fisherman's friend, licorice and mint flavored stuff. Drove me bonkers

90 euros for 10 shots of whiskey? Was it magical whiskey or something? See that's the reason I'd go in discos with a baseball bat and wreck everything.

450 DKK (danish kr) is around 60 euros. It's not that expensive but it's still not cheap. Alcohol bought from normal stores is cheap in Denmark (at least compared to Sweden) but not in drinking places where the prices goes up. It's not strange to pay 6-8 € for a beer and 10€ for stronger liquer in a danish/swedish bar.

You have no idea how much I would like to join in that, but not to wreck ordinary "disco" but a folk disco, now that would be joy!

If you are going to Discos, then you should at least learn how to dance. Finnish people can surely make good metal and burn churches but here's the proof that they can DISCO too!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJj6d5QSYaE

Now, after watching this, don't you think it would be a great idea if finnish people burned discos while playing metal ? :dio:

Discos are fun every once in a while. I personally wouldn't go to one every week or even every month, though.

Also, don't worry about your dancing skills. Chances are half the people at whichever nightclub you go to can't dance any better.

sad but true! When you go to "discos" half or even more people who are so into clubs and stuff can't dance at all

i guess it's not being or not being able to dance that matters, but doing it naturally by enjoying the music, which i can't.

Walking into a disco is like walking in to a vulgar caricature of a Where's Wally? book. I loathe it... I find it easier to spark a mutual interest with girls when I am actually able to talk to them. Girls that can be bought with cocktails and cheap comments are not worth it anyway.

So, uh, none of your towns have rock clubs?

Yeah well, Glasgow has one and to be honest after the 20 minutes of power metal they play at opening time (ie before anyone else is there) it tends to be a load of shite with the odd Maiden song thrown in. On a good night you'll get a run of 80s Maiden/Metallica/Megadeth if things quieten down a bit around 1am.

Other than you get a load of cheesy 80s rock (in a bad way), that fucking Buckcherry song, Green Day, and a whole bunch of SEXY music that tha girlz just gotsa SEXY DANCE to. Because Trent Reznor is SEXY. :lame:

Around here (Copenhagen, Denmark) we have a couple of rock clubs. Most of them play generic crap sing-alongs to avoid narrowing down their clientele too much.. But some of them are actually cool. One of them even has Black Metal Nights on a regular basis :dio: , but plays crap the rest of the time.

I love the little places where the walls are coloured by nicotine back from the 70's with billards and Judas Priest on the speakers. There is a few of these around here running more on the owners dedication than commercial succes. That's my right element...

After the "Beasts of Satan" here in italy, they started to play poser stuff even in rock pubs. But i found a very fucked up place in milan where they play lots of very extreme stuff like screamo/grindcore/noise, not bands i have heard of though. I think they played some Merzbow though.

How are you supposed to dance to Merzbow? Presumably some sort of 'drunken uncle at a wedding' grooving is called for.

When I was there we went out to this club that was pretty cool for new years and a couple other times. It was called Faust, do you ever go there?

I guess you'd have to do that crossed with the robot. A drunken uncle doing the robot, even.

I saw Merzbow live and people were dancing. Some were moshing and others were doing a waltz-type thing.

I've never actually been there although I am aware of its existence (and I live pretty close by). I always thought it was a goth club *shivers*? Perhaps I'll drop by some day.

What were you doing on these parts by the way? Business or pleasure?
