Spawn needs to be re-done on the "big screen". The book is way more adult. It pissed me off that they watered it down for a PG-13 rating. I loved that story.

Iron Man looks really cool. Damn CGI is making all of this stuff incredible to watch. I hope that the story is as good as the effects.

Jack Nicholson's Joker was really great for the version of Batman that it was in. The recent Batman is darker and much more faithful to the comics. If the rumors are true about Ledger's performance then this will be a great portrayal of the truly wicked psychotic that the Joker is supposed to be. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

You guys are crazy. Batman begins is a fantastic movie, and this looks amazing- Ledger looks like an absolutely insane Joker, the way he should be. I'm more hyped for this than any other movie.

Yeah, but I heard Joker is going to have a bigger role in the next film. I wonder what they'll do about that.

The heavy makeup required for the Joker helps.

I think that Guy from Law and Order: CI needs to play batman and Tim Curry plays the joker when they do a "dark knight return" movie, which they will do sooner or later. Both can act their asses off and look about the ages of the two characters in that story.

Oh right, Watchmen movie in 2009.

Excited? (Yes.)

Directed by Zack Nolan, who did the Dawn of the Dead remake and 300.

Alan Moore said the script was as good as the movie version could possibly be.

That is not to say Moore is endorsing the film. He wants nothing to do with it at all.

I don't think they are going to make fundamental errors in changing plot points like they did with V for Vendetta.

They just better keep the timeline strait, not make the movie seem like it is taking place in 2015 or something.

Lol this is becoming a comic nerds thread. Watchmen is too good to be made into a movie. Its such a complex story, it'll be too easy to fuck up. Its the perfect comic book, should be left as that.

Yes Iron Man is THE most metal superhero! (He haves his own Black Sabbath song! yeah! :dio: )

I have never heard of metal song goin' I am Batman(spiderman, hulk, superman (I declare him the most gay superhero) etc)

Spawn has an entire CD devoted to him( The dark Saga)

But it's not a Black Sabbath cd!

It was a series, but you can get it all in one book. If you wanna start reading comics (which i've just started doing myself) check out anything by Alan Moore or Frank Miller.

Alan Moore wrote Watchmen, League of Extraodinary Gentleman, V For Vendetta and the Killing Joke (an awesome Batman story).

The premise of Watchmen is basically "What if superheroes existed in a realistic world?" Theres a superman-like character who cant related to humanity because he can practically control the universe, one of the heroes is a rapist, many of them are retired as well. Its a really interesting read.

(Btw, you can easily get scans of most comics from downloading forums. www.tehparadox.com has a whole comics section.)

Hey, there's nothing wrong with some comicbook geekiness is there?? Actually it's cool to see that many of us can relate to this thread.

I totally agree with that comment. I'm a Watchmen fanatic, I've read that book many times and I honestly do not believe that it can be made into a movie, no matter how long it is. Even if everything is kept in the script, still it will (and can not be) so powerful, emotional and artistic as the graphical novel.

SPOILER ALERT

Technically the Comedian never raped her. Silk Spectre I (Sally Jupiter) would later have an affair with Eddie Blake which basically shows that they had feelings for each other and Eddie was not the monster he was seen as by the rest of the team and that there was some legitimacy that his claims that he never really tried to rape her. He was violent and beat her up when he was rejected, which was shameful, but the fact is that she did love Eddie despite everything that happened. I won't say any more about it because it's one of the most revealing revelations in the book.

I think it would be easy to make into a movie if it is done correctly with flashbacks and everything. We will see. If it makes for a good movie I predict it will be as big as Star Wars was initially. There will be lines of people seeing the movie again and everyone will be talking about it for months. If they spoil it I would expect that it would ruin the legacy of the comis in that people wouldn't be willing to read it but instead would see the movie.

Batman Begins was so much better than any of the other Batman's, it's not even debatable IMO. I have high hopes for this.

And maybe I should start reading comics...Watchmen sounds good.

+1, I totally agree with you about Batman Begins. That is how Batman is supposed to be portrayed. That was just a great film.

Watchmen is a great book. Try it!!

That is an understatement. Seriously. Watchmen is considered the apex of comic books. To not have read read it is like saying you didn't see the godfather and think you are a fan of movies. Except watchmen means more to comics than the godfather means to movies.
