As a life long Maiden fan who was really looking forward to this tour....I am pissed. The albums they were pulling material from was supposed to be Powerslave, SIT, & SSOASS. That set list is absolute bullshit. For as much as they bitch about not wanting play the hits, it likes they're in love with playing the same old tired ass set list. They're only doing two songs from SIT? What the hell is that? But we have The Trooper, 2 Minutes, NOTB, Hallowed, Run To The Hills, Fear Of The Dark, Iron Maiden and they've played Can I Play With Madness & Wasted Years on recent tours. Revelations was done on the "Early Years tour" What in the hell are they doing?

It's very disappointing to see them pull this.

Fans bitched when they played the entire new album last tour.

Now, we're getting Maiden playing ALL old songs. And there's complaints about WHICH old songs now?

Yes, maybe not a huge representation from SIT or SSOASS, but ALL old, classic maiden songs --- with ZERO token "new songs" from a new album. That's a greatest hits tour people. Scratch that -- even better, it's a greatest hits tour specifically from their MOST PROLIFIC era of all! Maybe this means nothing to brand new Maiden fans, but as a Maiden fanatic for over 20 years, I think it's killer.

And I don't understand the incessant complaining about them always playing the old "favorites". Hey, I like all the old albums, I like the "lesser played" more obscure gems as much as anyone too. But does anyone really think we're going to see Maiden playing a show with just songs like Still Life, Quest For Fire, Alexander the Great, and Deja Vu? Or just the entire Powerslave album? Then fans will complain they travelled all the way to X location and where the hell was NOTB and Run to the Hills and the Trooper.

I know you may have seen them play those songs a lot, but they are part of their legend. It'd be like seeing Zepplin not play Rock and Roll, Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, etc.

I think the whole tour idea kicks ass and frankly, any group of Maiden classics in a set list kicks ass too. I'm praying this tour stops near me.

Zero complaints from me.

I'd be pretty disappointed if I had planned on seeing them this time around. I saw them back in 2004 (or was it 2003?) when they had a sort of "Greatest hits" tour going, before the release of DoD but after BNW. They played most of that setlist back then (2 Minutes, Revelations, Trooper, TNOTB, Run To The Hills, Heaven Can Wait, FoTD, Iron Maiden, The Clairvoyant, Hallowed) so I'm disappointed in the lack of creativity. Only Moonchild and Ancient Mariner really excites me.

Anyway, it's still a great setlist no matter how you look at it. I was just hoping for some rarities from my favorite Iron Maiden albums (SSOASS, SIT).

I just orgasmed. I can't believe people are bitching about this shit- this is a fantastic setlist. Sure, if it were up to me, Killers, Phantom of the Opera and Twilight Zone would be on there, as would Caught Somewhere in Time, Alexander the Great and The Evil That Men Do, but I'm sure as fuck not bitching about an entire setlist of classic Maiden. Now they just damn well better come to Montreal.

My complaint is that Maiden were advertising this thing as doing all songs from Powerslave, SIT, and SSOASS. So, instead of playing 7 other songs from those albums we're now getting the standard Iron Maiden "Greatest Hits" show again. I am very grateful that they've dusted off the Powerslave stage set and that they've decided to finally play Aces High and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner again. Just don't talk it up as one thing and then switch it over later. That's just crap. I've seen them live plenty and I've had my fill of NOTB, RTTH, HBTN, IM, FOTD, 11:58pm, and Revelations.

They could have done Caught Somewhere In Time, Stranger In A Strange Land, TLOTLDR, or yes even Alexander The Great. They haven't played the song SSOASS in years. That would have been incredible live. This tour was billed as being very special. It's actually no different than the Gimme Ed set list really.

My comment is really directed more toward them than the set list. Iron Maiden keep complaining that they hate being perceived as a nostalgia act. They hate "playing the hits". Well, then what the hell do they call this?

I kinda know what Raven means. Counting Live After Death as one of the selected albums to choose songs from was a bit of a cop out.

But still, its an amazing setlist. Heaven Can Wait! :dio:

Well, hopefully on their swing through the US later this year, you should get the oppotunity to see them "NESS". Despite my bitching about the set list choices, I'll say that you absolutely have to see them. I was very lucky to see the Powerslave tour twice back in the 80's. If they play within 500-1000 miles of you on this tour try to find a way to go. It really is the most impressive stage show I think I've seen. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner live is still one of the most incredible songs in that setting. It will blow you away. :dio:

How about this: Maiden are a British band. This tour includes one fucking date in Britain. In a cricket stadium in England. Gee thanks guys.

It's getting increasingly common for bands these days to play 3 dates and call it a UK tour. Hopefully this is something of a warm-up for a big UK tour. And count yourself lucky that you live in a decent gig spot! Mayhem, Nachtmystium, Opeth among others are missing out here on tour.

Glad I saw them in March last year. Just wish I could've made it this time. Anyway, great setlist. I would've loved to see Rime Of The Ancient Mariner played live.

That is one hell of a kick ass setlist. I've been a Maiden fan for nearly 10 years now and I've not seen them live. Having them play in a less metal country like India just frustrates me a lot. But being British, I guess India is their strongest link in Asia.

I don't understand all the whining about the setlist. I'd understand if you have seen Maiden a lot (more than 20 times, maybe), then you can complaint about the list being too repetitive. But for a guy like me and most of us, I think it's fantastic. Moonchild and Rime of the Ancient Mariner are one of my favourite Maiden song's which I'll definitely look forward to watching them play.....only if I was there.

Damn you Indians and Aussies!

For me, the only song that does not fit is Fear of the dark...
I see this setlist and I remember my first maiden show, in the ssoass tour... one of the best lives of my life, Anthrax, Helloween, Metallica and maiden.

But they don't play in Barcelona, by the moment... expecting more dates...
