Holy shit, I tore it up today! I went into Nuggets today to grab that Nocturnus album—which was $16, by way; that's eight CDs on any other day there and a lot of money for me to be spending on CDs. I intended on also grabbing some trade fodder for lala and SwapaCD. Well, there are times when that $2 section has nothing that interests me; there are other times where I could buy fifty CDs! Today was one of those days.

Aerosmith - Honkin' On A Bobo
American Minor - Buffalo Creek (EP)
BulletBoys - Freakshow
Elan - London Express
Elan - Street Child
Firebird - No. 3 (Slimline SPV Promo)
Fueled By Fire - Spread The Fire (w/Bonus Tracks)
Mind Over Four - Half Way Down
Nocturnus - Thresholds
Prong - Broken Peace (Promo EP)
Psychopathics From Outer Space - Part 3
Speed Kill Hate - Acts Of Insanity
Submersed - In Due Time
Timelord - Regeneration (w/Bonus Tracks)
Towers Of London - How Rude She Was (CD Single w/Non-LP Track)

Aside from that $16 Nocturnus CD, all of them were $2. RIDICULOUS! Timelord and Fueled By Fire got me all giddy when I saw them. Haha. I also got these in the mail:

Fear Factory - Obsolete (w/Bonus Tracks) **
Haynes, Warren - Tales Of Ordinary Madness **
Rattlebone - Rattlebone (EP) **
Sculpture - Sculpture
Twisted Sister - A Twisted Christmas: Live
Varga - Prototype (Original w/Bonus Track) **

** Under $2 from SwapaCD.com.

I don't have Powerslave. I guess because of his avatar, I'd expect him to have the album.

Yeah, I know...well I have it now and I'm glad I do because the production's better than it was on the download.

Yeah, I've had it. I just upgraded to the one with bonus tracks. In fact, the first copy I got through SwapaCD was the regular version, so that was free. Now I have two for trade. Anyone? Anyone?

Its one of the best live albums ever, i hope you were able to get it with the bonus tracks, because the live renditions of "Delivering the Goods" and "Hell Bent for Leather" are just fucking godly in fact you could say that all the songs performed on that album are the definite versions.

Last week I read a big article about this live album. Halford vocals were recorded in the UK. They did not use the original recordings because his voice was not in the best condition when they were in Japan.

It's just that Powerslave is a classic and 'essential' album, so I'd expect a greater amount of shock at him not owning that than some Mastodon.

First of 08 for me

-The String Quartet's tribute to Coheed and Cambria's - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth
-Deathspell Omega - Fas - Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum

I'm thinking about listing my CD's I get here again. Maybe that'll be my new years resolution.

Tell me what you think of the DSO. I think it's abig step up from SMRC personally, and has more mature lyrics (even if now I don't have a clue what they mean!)

How are those String Quartet tribute albums? I've only heard the Dream Theater one (they played it before the show)

This will be my frist DSO album. It was a blind buy after all the hype it got on this board. I'll still let you know though.

As for the CO & CA tribute, I love it. I'm a big fan of strings, so I thought I'd give an album I already love a shot with a string quartet playing. It's really good, especially when I'm at work. I don't get any shit from my coworkers for playing it. Actually, I should rephrase that, I still get shit, but now it's just "are you listening to classical music!??!!??". It is good, if you want something new aside from metal that you are still familiar with.
