Hows the new album? I haven't heard it yet. I watched a few vids off the latest album, and I think it's just ok. 'While your lips are still red' is amazing. Marco has a really good voice. Maybe he should start fronting Nightwish instead of Anette. Anette's voice is pretty good, but it makes Nightwish sound like a typical gothic band. Tarja gave the whole operatic feel to the band.

I see where you getting at. From the videos I can concur that musically it is still Nighwish, but there's a lack of solos, magical keyboards, and of course the vocals. I feel Anette has a very commercial voice compared to Tarja.

I wouldn't write Nightwish off, don't worry. I'm sure Anette has her own uniqueness that I'm unaware off. I'll definitely need to listen to the new album since you mentioned it's a Top 5 material.

I think it's pure toss, but at least 9 out of 10 people would probably disagree with me. How "Last of the Wilds" and "The Islander", two relatively decent tracks, made it on there is beyond me.

"Last of the Wild" is not anything new for Nightwish. Angels Fall First and Oceanborn each had stuff like this one, "Moondance" being the obvious. And "The Islander" is awesome! Sounds like a Dead Soul Tribe song.

I don't mind Tarja's solo debut but it's been getting some pretty negative comments. Lots just seem to love bagging her out because they are caught up in all the bullshit. I don't think it would matter what she released they would say it was terrbile. She's doing her own thing not trying to start another Nightwish and why not with such a great voice.

I am dissapointed she is no longer in Nightwish but like Helloween I will still support them as I love the music even If I prefer the former vocalist. If I didn't I'm sure I'd miss out on some great stuff.

That seems something that's hard to believe. But I think I'll get the album and consider.
