The problem with this is that it's too bloody long. You have it on and think "oh this bit's cool", and "this bit's also cool", and when it finishes you think "yeah, there were some good bits somewhere in the middle of all of that". It's not like it built up to a thrilling final climax or anything either. It kind of stays at one level all the way through.

i hate when kinda cool bands have albums that go on for way too long :(

Yes, or when they don't seperate passages of music that are clearly different into different tracks. I mean, call them something utterly pretentious if you must- like "chapters" or "volumes"- anything that stops you making it just one long track.

What's that like? Heard it's more like Celtic Frost or Bathory than the punk influence of the last one.

Your description is pretty spot on I guess... I liked the last one better.
But the song Canadian Metal is kick ass.

Hmm, not sure, the title track reminds me way more of Motorhead than CF or Bathory.

It is a cool album, though. Definitely very rock n roll :dio:

Should check out some Graveland. What I've heard's been pretty cool.

Do so, I have some early albums and they're excellent. Still to check the later material, though...

Blut Aus Nord - Odinist

Took me a while to get to this. So far, more of same old same old. Yawn.

Naastrand- Chants d'Europe

Kind of goofy but enjoyable Isengard-style French band.

Wolfpack Unleashed - Anthems of Resistance

Great melodic thrash from Austria! The vocalist sounds a little like James Hetfield and other times a little like the vocalist from Christian band Tourniquet.

Darkthrone - Soulside Journey

Had this for ages before finally getting to it tonight... very good stuff. I'm glad they didn't pursue it though, who needs two Deaths?

Hmm that album doesn't really remind me of Death, but each to their own.

Just listened to a track off the new Enthroned, damn this band is great. One of my favourite straight-forward BM bands.
