Hmm.. Puts some new perspective on him leaving BG- was it really because of musical differences, or because he's become unreliable for some reason or other?

"After the recent events at the Rengsdorf Rock & Blues Festival and the Rock Am Schloss Festival the band sees no perspective any more to go on with our drummer Thomen Stauch [ex-BLIND GUARDIAN]. Therefore we immediately release him from all duties.

That's quite a harsh way of sacking a band member and informing the public.

What's wrong with him? He left Blind Guardian (a great fuckin band) because he felt they were not musically in sync anymore, and he joined Savage Circus, who played a lot more like early BG. So what's the reason of fooling around?

I always thought he was the main driving force in forming Savage Circus in the first place. Doesn't this actually mean that Savage Circus is pretty much done, since all of the other guys still have their main projects anyway?

Maybe it was always more about Thomen's emotional state than about musical differences and such.

Knowing that Piet is a businessman, I'm more inclined to believe Thomen. Businesss people do what they do to cover their own asses and protect their other interests...and at least Thomen provided a link to backup one of his arguments.

Well it's hard to say, but Thomen's comments are far more convincing than Piet's. If only I could read German, or whatever language that was on the linked page.

As for Piet being a businessman, I think it's normal how business people try to take everything into their hands, whether it's agreeable to the rest of his team/band. It's the most fucked up part in this industry.

And my oh, my.....that's some real sourness between them.

I just have to say that if it wasnt for Thomen no one would have heard of this band. I only bought their debut album because of his Blind Guardian history. Its over for Savage Circus now.

Sad news, Thomen is a great drummer and I was not happy when he left Blind Guardian, even though Fredrik Ehmke proved to be a great replacement. Hopefully things will go well for The Omen from this point on.

Savage Circus was going to have the same problem whether or not Thomen remained with the band. They have to make themselves more than just Blind Guardian Jr if its going to go anywhere.

These 2 have some serious problems. Spreading it like this on the internet is not really helping.

I don't think the both of them would be bothered much about where their relationship leads after this. They did mention that their lawyers would do the talkin from now on. How bitter could things get?
