How is that? they're supporting Dream Theater, and I always like to have a little knowlegde of the support acts when I see a band, so I figured the new album would be the best place to start.

Its a great album, but I would start with Divine Wings or The Odyssey.

I figured the set would be pretty heavy on the new album though.

Or Twilight in Olympus. To be honest, I think Paradise Lost is my second favourite Symphony X album after that one- I do reccomend it, its quite amazing. But you can't go wrong with Ness' choices either- The Odyssey does have their best song, the 24 minute long one aptly titled the Odyssey. I too am seeing them live (next monday! Going to be awesome, and they;re headlining, so more Symphony time for me).

Hammerfall - Glory To The Brave :dio:

Edguy - Rocket Ride
Not bad, but it's going to take a while for the less immediate songs to grow on me. Trinidad rules, though. :)

I'll admit Rocket Ride grew on me, but Trinidad is vomit nasty.

King Diamond - Give Me Your Soul... Please

Chose it over Symphony X's newest (probably get that next) because of all the great things people are saying. About to dive in for a first listen.

Edit: Wow! Great album, better than The Puppet Master. Not sure on a score yet, but my favorite tracks so far are: Black of Night, The Cellar, The Floating Head, and The Girl In The Bloody Dress.

AH ZAD!!! Don't tell me you're a Strato s/t fan...

House II is damn awesome though. They are a sure thing with almost every album.

If only they had made II about 8 minutes shorter by cutting out some of the interludes/ambient parts of certain songs- it would have been one of the best albums ever. As of now, its just really really really fucking awesome.

Heh, I've only heard Maniac Dance so far, and liked that, so...

And the VS sounded ok, only listened to a bit of the first track.

And I just bought Halford - Crucible for very cheap. A good thing?
