I think they sound just fine without one, and they're still heavy as fuck.

After one listen, I'd have to declare Phantom Limb a rousing success and on par with their previous. It definitely sounds a little more polished than Terrifyer, while still keeping the chaotic vibe. In time, this may well prove to be my favorite PD album.

Pig Destroyer is an amzing band. It's hard to find a band that matches them in terms of sheer intensity. There's a video clip of them playing live, and the singer's microphone keeps fucking up. He merely tosses the microphone aside and starts yelling at the top of his lungs. I couldn't tell the difference.

I've seen that. That is about as fucking metal as it is stupid, and it was really fucking metal. He could have totally destroyed his voice trying to rise above amplified instruments and ended his career.

Just so no one gets the wrong impression, I really think the band is great, I just wish they had a bassist.

This is now officially the awesomest video of the internets, pig destroyer is the coolest band and J.R. Hayes is the best vocalist ever.
