Wow thanks man!!!!I have to say that again their sound is slightly different. To me it sounds more similar to the muddy sound in BSoV and ITDS,and the vocals are interesting to be sure. Some parts of the song particularly the faster leads remind me of Symphony X quite alot, not that that is bad though.

Great to hear new stuff, thanks for posting!

fuck me sideways, that song rules!!

and production-wise, it sounds closer to Annihilation than the older albums (which imo is a good thing).

when's the album coming out?[/list]

U.S. on July 17 via Nuclear Blast Records (July 23 in most of Europe). That's a direct blabbermouth quote. Holy shit it's close and this song got me drooling.

Oh can't wait! Awesome riff and lead in this song. I'm expecting this to easily surpass the slightly disappointing Annihilation.

 what didn't you like about Annihilation? i daresay the production puts it ahead of the older albums (which also rule). Cast Down the Heretic is one of the best death metal songs i've ever heard.

That song rules and so does Lashed to the Slave Stick, but Ani had some filler in it unlike previous albums.

Annihilation had sooooo many boring 'epic-length' songs that it ruined the experience. They ought to do what they do best, write short and chaotic tracks with an epic or two strewn about. It worked on ItDS, didn't it?

Kaathy answered your question for me. Filler was the problem. I thought BSOV was a step up from Catacombs and Shrines a step up from BSOV but while Annihilation was very good Nile has yet to top Shrines...hopefully this will do it.

I've read a review, probably a promo review and it says it is just good old Nile. Nothing new, pretty much the same but solid as always. Had a 8.5 out of 10.

Hey guys and gals,I figured I'd post this though I don't know if you've already seen it.It's the E-card for the new album on nuclearblast, just click on Jukebox, each sample is like 45-60 secs I'm guessing but everything sounds great!!!http://www.nuclearblast.de/band_showa.php?artist=725

So far my favs are tracks 1,5 and 6,though I love em all from what little there is.Those samples remind me alot of songs like Ramses Bringer of War and Eat of the Dead has some absolutely killer twisted riffs!!Tracks 8 and 9 kick alot of ass too!

As it seems the only one here who loved Annihilation wholeheartedly, I must say I'm looking forwards to whatever they throw our way next. The track K posted is great...

I too, love 'Annihilation' wholeheartedly. I can't say a bad thing about Nile.

THIS ALBUM FUCKING KILLS!!!

"Even the Gods Must Die" is the only one in the bunch that i didn't like (it's really slow), other than that they're all very solid.

and Zad, i also really like Annihilation. a less-than-good track here and there but all-round it's a very good death metal album, and Cast Down the Heretic is one of the best songs i've heard in the genre.
