Well she's got some big shoes to fill let's see if she can fill them when the new album comes out.

From the samples i heard i don't know whether she'll be able to. A little early to say but i'm kind of iffy about the replacement.

Better looking.

She's definitely not the soporano Tarja was, which isn't necessarily bad, but her voice also seems to lack power. It's hard to tell for sure though by a couple of short samples.

Although Tarja wasn't bad looking I agree she is better looking

Yeah I noticed that too, she's either lacking power or was badly mixed in the songs because it sounds like she's drowned by the instruments and Marco in the mix.

She does sound pretty good on the Alyson Avenue tracks that are available on MySpace. Nightwish's style is different though so for now I'm a little skeptical. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now.

come on tarja was better looking:P so what happens with older nightwish songs when they play live?most of them have opera vocals...are they going to change all the vocal lines or just exclude them from the shows

I think she's better looking than Tarja, but I gotta say that I will never ever get over how incredibly gay the rest of the band looks- especially that pirate dude. What a fag.

Yeah lets talk about music. A couple of the samples sounded pretty good (lead guitar, what the hell?!?) and a couple not so good. The Amaranath one, or whateverm did not sound promising at all. But the 'Wolves' song almost sounded power metalish again. Lets wait and see....

I'm thinking it's the latter. They've recorded the album and I think all that's left is mixing.

I really don't care what she looks like. I'm simply unimpressed with her vocals! At this rate they should have asked Avril to join. Toumas is a fool! Based upon what I've heard from those clips Nightwish had better start wishing during the day as well. They'll need all the help they can get. And yes, Toumas looks gay as hell going for his Jack Sparrow look. What a GOOB! He even had a Jack Sparrow doll hanging from his keyboard in the "End Of An Era" show.

Musically, based upon the clips, I find them uninspired. Completely boring...however...we'll see.

Who knows maybe Toumas will have a promising career as a Jack Sparrow impersonator out in Vegas once Nightwish dive bombs.

It's hard to judge from the just the samples but my first impression is that even though she can obviously sing, she doesn't sound all that distinct or unique, where as Tarja really stood out. But as said, it's hard to make an accurate opinion from two very short samples.

Well this sure is interesting, I agree with her lacking power, it just feels weird with Nightwish without strong vocals. A friend of mine said that the only things good about her are better looks and better english. But we'll have to see, maybe she'll surprise us .
